Social Profile:

Pizzeria Kmotra Kavárna is the oldest pizzeria in Prague. Since 1993. A family run business. We prepare pizza in the wood heated oven, typical italian dishes like home made pasta, meat and fish, salads. We serve Pilsner Urquell beer, czech and italian vines. Take-away, delivery- Choice. Pizzeria Kmotra Kavárna je nejstarší pizzerie v Praze, rodinný podnik založený v roce 1993. Od té doby pečeme pizzu v peci na dřevo, vyrábíme si domácí těstoviny. Čepujeme Pilsner Urquell a podáváme italská i moravská vína. Jsme trošku staromódní a tak máme raději, když si o rezervaci zavoláte na tel. 724 234 603 🙂

No-nonsense pizzeria in a vaulted subterranean space with a compact menu of Italian classics.

Great Italian restaurant just next door to the hotel we were staying in. Visited twice during our stay. First visit had soup followed by beef with peppercorn sauce, it was lovely. 2nd visit had pizza and a calzone. Both were huge and very nice. Would visit again. 5

Came here on the way from dancing house and came out with mixed feelings. The entrance looks like a small bar which doesn’t make the best impression, underground where the restaurant is mainly located is much better. Service was quick and possible in English without problems. When it comes to the food it was hit and miss, soup was great, drinks were good, spaghetti was fine, pizza which should be the best in pizzeria was amazing when it comes to presentation and medicore at best when it comes to taste.

I was really disappointed. The restaurant claimed to specialize in gluten-free pizzas, but unfortunately, the pizza looked unappetizing and tasted even worse—the dough was rubbery, almost like gum. The entire meal lacked flavor. The mushroom risotto was tough and undercooked. While the presentation of the dishes was nice, the taste didn’t come close to matching the pictures you see.

This was my fifth visit to this restaurant. I hadn’t been here for about a year. The pizzas are still good, but honestly they used to be better in the past.

What really disappointed me this time was the service at the entrance. The staff seems to have changed. There was a thin man at the entrance who told our group of five that we had to go downstairs. However, we preferred to sit upstairs.

We wanted to sit at a table by the window, but he told us that the table was reserved. The strange part is that there was no reservation sign on the table at all. It was very clear that he simply didn’t want us to sit there.

If a table is truly reserved, the professional thing to do is to place a reservation sign on it in advance. That is basic restaurant management. If the table was really reserved and there was no sign, that is still a mistake by the staff.

The pizza is good, but this kind of attitude towards guests is disappointing and far from professional.

Everything was decent, we had prociustto to start, parm pizza, and various pastas, just solid, nothing made us go wow. Reasonably priced and cool setting. Definitely had better brick oven pizzas and pasta in both the US and Italy.

Wonderful. We have spent 4 nights in Prague and 3 in this restaurant that was right opposite our hotel. It is fantastic. The staff are happy and helpful. The service is exceptional. The food is out of this world. Great home made pizzas and really flavourful pasta. Try to get here if you visit Prague.

One of the oldest pizzerias in Prague. The pizza is handmade and baked in the wood oven. Very good list of Czech wines. Well-cooked dishes at reasonable prices. Enjoy it!!

Really enjoyed our lunch here. The pizzas were superb, great toppings and authentic oven fired bases. We loved the Devil, slightly spicy with ham, mushrooms and chilli. Bruschetta was also delicious. The fettuccine with prawns was well made but a bit bland and lacking in sauce. Lovely atmosphere in the downstairs underground seating and quick, friendly service.
