Used to love this place. Haven’t been for about a year. Had breakfast. No flavor sausage biscuits and gravy. Toast was soggy, chicken fried steak not good. Bacon was perfect. Think I will definitely stay away Tipped 15% for having plate dropped off and that was it as far as service. 3 girls standing at register. But no waitress on the floor You have to go up and order your food. Pour your own drinks. I’m questioning why there’s even a tip. It was certainly not earned as it’s pretty much self service

What a wonderful gem! After taking in the history of Lecompton, we stopped at this local restaurant and were so delighted that we stopped! Good food for reasonable prices. And you must have one of their homemade deserts—cinnamon rolls, pies, cupcakes! A must stop. You will not be disappointed.

Aunt Netters was one of many pie stops I made on my cross country road trip last year. (I was able to hit most of USA today’s top 10 list from 2024, which Aunt Netters was on, as they are once again in 2025.) And I’d say they lived up to their top 10 billing pretty darn well. As was the case with most of the other 5-star dessert places I visited over the course of the year, I made a point to try several different items, and I thought all of what I sampled was pretty good and worth its price; but there were definitely a few stand-outs that were a cut above for me, and really drove in the 5 star rating. In the case of Aunt Netters, I found their cupcakes and their pie crusts to be good but not stand-out. However, their (pie) fillings were all exceptional, and I especially loved the cherry which would be my recommendation to anyone who is going to (be silly and :P) limit themselves to just 1 slice. The other thing I can’t recommend enthusiastically enough is their cinnamon rolls, which I’d definitely rank as some of the best I had anywhere in the US! Add to all that their very reasonable prices across the board, and you’ve got an easy 5-star must-stop in my book!

Aunt Netter’s has a good variety of “house made” pastries. We tried the cinnamon rolls and found them to be just as good as the recommendations we had received. We also tried cherry pie and coconut cream pie because they looked so appetizing in the case. This is why I rated 4 instead of 5; they were a bit disappointing. One more note: cinnamon rolls taken home are amazing on the air fryer!

Nearby unique shops are fun.

This is probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve had! Fast, hot, flavorful. I’m not sure what they put in their buttermilk pancakes, but they were perfection on a plate! We also had the Breakfast Bowl with added jalapenos and ghost pepper cheese. Amazing and perfectly spicy! We ordered peanut butter chocolate silk cake and strawberry rhubarb to go!

I’m gonna give this place 5 Stars because it’s right downtown next to all the Historic stuff that I came to film, the staff are very polite, it’s very spacious and western like inside with even more History to be learned about on the walls! Lecompton itself is filled with History! It’s why I’m here! Hehe

But Aunt Netters Cafe just sounded good as I was walking down the main road filming, coming from the Constitutional Hall. I only had about $5 on me so I was kinda limited but thankfully I was able to get a soda and some onion rings (homemade) for under $5 and it’s actually a decent portion size! And even if it was small, I got a snack and a soda for under $5!

Perfect! These onion rings are delicious though and I’m glad I stopped in there instead of driving to Casey’s!

The food was good. Had a pork tender sandwich and a piece of choc/Peanut Butter Pie

But I had to run to the restroom and when I came back, they had cleared my table and my food was gone. Was almost done with pie, so not the end of the world. Just surprised me. Lol

Amazing is the word I would use to describe Aunt Netter’s. The cinnamon roll was the best I have ever had, it was warm, and I put a little butter on it; melts in your mouth in a cacauphony of cinnamon and sugar. The breakfast quesadilla was also great, filled with every vegetable and sausage, I picked the ghost pepper cheese, absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this place to everyone, it is amazing!
