I have not been to Cracker Barrel in a long time. It is exactly how I remember it but with definite upgrades to the menu choices. The food was delicious and our server was top notch. I got a breakfast platter and my wife got a new hash brown casserole selection. She is a vegetarian and they easily accommodated her request to remove the bacon. I also bought a coffee mug from the store. The whole experience took me back to the days when I frequented it more often. I highly recommend it.

We’ve been to Cracker Barrel often. On Monday we were on our way to Florida from Michigan. The Cracker Barrel was located in Rocky Top Tennessee Exit 129. It was almost 9.00 pm. I ordered a grilled flattened chicken breast with broccoli and kernel corn. Unfortunately that late they were out of broccoli so I ordered green beans. I asked the server for a biscuit and she brought us a basket of awesome biscuits and corn breads. I loved the corn breads and the chicken was fabulous. I’ll certainly order this plate again next time we stop at a Cracker Barrel.

1st asked for cornbread and biscuits before our food arrived did not happen. 2. ask for chicken noodle soup got cup of dumplings 3. Wife ask for cup of fresh fruit as one one sides. Didn’t arrived till she was done eating. The cup of soup was only 3q way full. Corn was nasty food was like warm. 1st time we have ate here in over a year guess this was why.

The highlight of going to Cracker Barrel is the gift shop! The season items are cute and unique. The restaurant and food I would classify ‘as expected’. Nothing amazing but average. We had breakfast fair and it was fine.

Kylee is not only beautiful, but she is an awesome waitress constantly checking on me to make sure I was OK. The food was OK. The hamburger steak was hard to cut, but the flavor was great. I had broccoli and cheese casserole. It was good and mashed potatoes and gravy!

The food was excellent. I had a vegetable plate, very well seasoned and cooked. My husband had a very good country-fried steak and gravy. The biscuits were soft and lovely, and the peach tea was super yummy. We stopped twice, once for carry-out peach tea, and the to-go waitress was beyond nice and quickly prepared the perfect peach tea. Later in the day we stopped by to eat in with the veggie plate and country-fried steak meals. I do not usually enjoy eating in, because the atmosphere inside is noisy, but I asked for a table in the back corner, and it was not as noisy (I could actually hear the music playing this time; usually it is so noisy that I cannot hear it.). In nice weather, we used to eat outside, but the tables have been removed, so we cannot do that anymore. (Please consider having a couple of tables outside for people who might order to go and can sit and enjoy good food, music, and weather. A to-go order would not require the waiter or waitress outside, but would be a nice option for those who do not enjoy the noisy atmosphere inside the restaurant.) On my way to the ladies’ room while I waited for our food to arrive, I asked one of the ladies up front about an e-mail that I had received about a discount for veterans (my husband is a veteran), telling her I was unsure how to do that. She was so nice, saying no worries, that when we were finished, she would help me with it (it was not very busy at the time, and I appreciated the kind offer). As I stated, the food was good, but halfway through our meal, the waitress reached over us while we were eating to get the bottles to refill the salt and pepper, etc., which was somewhat interruptive to our nice quiet space, but that was okay; however, when she started sweeping all around us, loudly banging the broom into the dustpan repeatedly, that was not okay. I said nothing, but I worked my way through high school and college as a waitress, and I would never have interrupted my customers in this way. When the banging started, we decided to put the remainder of the food in a to-go box and leave. We went to pay the check and there was a different lady up front, and when I asked about the veterans discount, she was grouchy, saying that was our responsibility. “Did we not have grandkids that could help us,” she asked. Well, thanks for telling us we look old and for belittling us as if we did not have enough sense to do what our grandchildren can do. My husband told her to forget it, we would just pay the entire amount, but she continued to grumble and make us feel less than. Then the nice lady who had offered to help me initially showed up, saw what was transpiring and said she would be happy to lend us a hand with it, thanked my husband, and took the discount off the bill, while the other lady continued to mutter and grumble. If the grumpy lady had simply said that she did not believe she should help us with that and do so in a pleasant manner, that would have been just fine, but she was so demeaning in her manner. So, a mixed review with good and bad service. Please continue to hire people like the lovely lady who helped us with the discount and the most pleasant one who made our to-go order, and please advise employees that it is not acceptable to most noisily clean and interrupt customers during their meal nor is it acceptable to at length belittle and grumble at them. I thank you for taking the time to read this review; it is appreciated.

I got the fried chicken strips and mashed potatoes with gravy as my sides. I was able to get 4 meals out of the one plate for myself. I did get a wonderful piece of carrot cake, but it only made it to the plate once! No leftovers there!

Like to go here because it’s consistent. I don’t think the switch to serving booze did anything positive. Prices are high, like everywhere, but if we are willing to pay, why not push the limit. This is why I could never be in business – I have to be able to sleep at night with a clear conscience. At least they haven’t started selling cars or insurance….yet!
