Pleasantly surprised by new ownership. The waitress and bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Greeted, seated, ate, and paid at a very comfortable speed. Never felt rushed or unattended, even at dinner service. The menu is everything from sirloin to sandwiches and you can pay accordingly; whether that means a quick, inexpensive bite, or a luxurious, but still fairly priced dinner. Has both the atmosphere of finer dining, or a sports bar depending on where you sit and there’s also tables to eat outside. Definitely recommend and will eat here again.

We went there tonight Friday Aug 15 with 12 people from Hamlin Senior Center. We had made reservations over a month ago. When we got there at 5pm on a Friday no one was in restaurant. Should have known something then. We were told they didn’t have our reservation and they did not have food to accommodate us. What if 5 cars pulled up with 4 people in each could the accommodate them. They said they didn’t have food? We went to two guys with no reservations and had a great time

Went for mother’s day and food was awful, and even though they had an entire page of the menu with brisket they had none. I could of understood if late in the evening, but we were there within an hour of opening.Service was great and wish the food would of reflected as much. The menu was nothing like it is on their page.

I havented visited Wayne on the Hill since it was known as the fireside. Always seemed a bit out of the way for me. But last weekend my friends and I had a few drinks and a nice dinner there. Food was good. But the best part of the dining experience was the bartender and our waiter Jason. It was so refreshing to end up with a server that was personable, knowledgeable, and a wonderful personality. That seems hard to come by lately in this world. Hometown appeal, hometown food with a few surprises, but most important was the atmosphere Jason provided to table. Impeccable service ! Way better than the one woman that always tender bad there. It feels good to be treated like a patron and not annoyance, and that is exactly what Jason did . We will be back.

Wayne on the Hill is a local favorite of mine. The brisket dishes are great and very popular – popular enough that they sometimes they run out of the brisket. I’ve generally had great service and enjoyed every dish I’ve tried. The atmosphere is also nice. I’ve seen some great bands play there as well.

Hate to write a bad review for this place but can’t hold back anymore. To start the waitresses are sweet and overworked. The Owner should hire someone to help them! Literally anyone. Even some one just to clear the tables. I am local and go here at least once per week because it’s so close to home. There is ZERO consistency. One day your meal comes out timely and as you would expect, freshly made and as the menu describes. On your very next visit (in my case 4 days later) you order the same thing and what you get is something similar to a frozen hungry man box meal version of what you got last week!
It makes me sad that they can’t just make the menu small and make 10 good things instead of 50 things that a mediocre at best. Fingers crossed that they read this and make improvements so we can keep coming. Love the Friday night music by the way.

The food since reopening is way better and the wait staff is great. The reason I am rating it 4-star and not 5 is there have been regular mistakes with getting our orders correct. The first time we ordered a buffalo chicken salad to go. They made a buffalo chicken sandwich instead, but caught the mistake and we just had to wait a few extra minutes. No big deal. This evening I ordered the same salad dining in and the same mistake was made. I just ate the sandwich and did enjoy it. We ordered one item to go. We asked for french fries as an add-on and we’re charged the extra dollar. We didn’t look until we got home and found no fries. It seems that messing up order is the weak link right now

I pass this place regularly while on the job, so thought I’d take my wife here for her birthday. There were only two cars in the parking lot when we arrived, and I thought we were lucky. That sensation didn’t last long at all! The bartender yelled for us to “just sit anywhere, ” since all of the tables were available. A waitress showed up 10 minutes later with menus… If you can call them that. There are literally three choices: Brisket, Steak, or Lobster. Of course the waitress informed us that all brisket was out of stock, so that left steak or Lobster. And the ONLY sides available are the house vegetable (green beans) and any type of potato as long as they are french fried. I can’t fathom how an establishment can get away with serving french fries with steak, lobster, or brisket, but this one does, and the waitress seemed perturbed that somebody would actually ask about a baked potato. My wife and I ordered the steaks . 25 minutes later when our steak dinners arrive, I’m shocked that a $30 steak dinner includes six green beans and 10 french fries. Attempting to eat the steak reveals the 12 oz steak to be 4 oz of gristle, 4 oz of fat, and 4 oz of overcooked beef. My wife has to get the waitresses attention and ask her for water to wash down the steak, and the waitress seemed to be considering whether or not to charge for the glass of water. When the check came it was almost $70, and I couldn’t wait to pay it and get the hell out of there. This must be a really jumping bar after hours, because there is no way this place will ever succeed as a restaurant. The owners of this place are apparently a family that owns a couple other establishments a few miles down the road. One can only hope their other operations are better than this one. I don’t know, nor do I have any intentions of ever trying to find out. Avoid this place like the plague!

Very nicely renovated. Menu was not very large but had good choices of appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. My wife had French Dip Sirloin that was excellent . I ordered Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta that was very well done and my daughter had Shrimp pasta. We were very happy with the service and the price. We will go back.
