The food was very good overall. We enjoyed the Wagyu Shiitake Fried Rice, Crispy Rice, Garlic Chicken, Branzino, and the Wagyu Truffle Sando. The Truffle Sando was absolutely delicious, though pricey at $66 for four small bites.
For cocktails, the Cucumber Shiso was refreshing and memorable, while the Yuzu Paloma was watery and underwhelming.
Service was fine, but there was no complimentary dessert, which many NYC restaurants offer and would have made the evening feel more special.
Overall: great flavors, but celebratory touches didn’t quite match the price point.
One of my favorite meals I’ve ever had in the city was here at Lobster Club
We kicked off the evening at the bar with a refreshing Lychee Martini, which set the tone for the night. Once our entire party arrived, we moved to a lovely table and ordered a variety of dishes. Every single item we tried was absolutely delightful—I loved them all!
Our sommelier was fantastic and recommended the perfect bottle of sake that paired beautifully with our meal.
I can’t wait to return to this gem of a restaurant! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing Japanese dining experience!
We arrived at 7:35 for our 7:45 reservation and checked in with the hostess, who told us they would check on our table and get back to us. No one ever followed up. After waiting for a while, we went to the bar and ended up waiting about 30 minutes before realizing we had essentially been forgotten. When we checked in again, they finally took us to a table—but it wasn’t in the area we had booked.
The whole situation felt disorganized and a bit misleading. When we politely mentioned the issue, the manager’s response felt dismissive and honestly a little embarrassing, which made the situation even more uncomfortable.
It’s disappointing because the food was genuinely good, but the front-of-house experience really overshadowed what should have been a memorable night for us.
Not only it was half empty on a Saturday night around 8pm, the food was well below my expectations. There’s literally not a single thing we had I would want to come back for.
The wine list extensive though.
But I’m not coming back.
♂️Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Notes: I really love this restaurant, it has a level of standards to it and you feel the presence and the vibes from the very first step you take. The food is high quality and the service was really good (for the most part). I noticed that in the beginning the service was slow as there were many tables being served. There was a gap between the starters and the mains (because they accidentally forgot to serve the crispy rice) As a form of gratitude, they did remove the crispy rice from the bill (which I highly appreciate) I would defiantly come back for my next visit
The good: I LOVED the truffle Wagyu sandwich! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the meat was soft, tender, and juicy that was wedged between two thin and buttery slices of bread.
The bad: basically everything else. The service was slow and the other dishes were not at all flavorful enough to justify their price points. The tuna and chiles dish didn’t make sense to me as a whole, but the tuna itself was good. The yuzu black bass was even worse as it had no color, very light flavors, and served with disappointingly bland vegetables. The service was also a bit slow as it took nearly 35 minutes to get the tuna appetizer. To top it all off, something I ate didn’t sit well and now I’m spending a majority of my afternoon in the bathroom
Overall, pretty disappointed considering the amount I spent on these three dishes went above $150
