A very aesthetic design, very clean and great customer service!
The food was highly underwhelming unfortunately. Even with added hot sauce – it lacked depth and flavor.

Have to be supper hungry to try this cuisine because portions are more than enough for 2 people. Great service and comfortable seating. Food is prepared quickly just wish they offered plain fried rice option.

Let me start off by saying — the first red flag should have been the sudden name changes of the staple menu items. Hi-mein to lo-mein. “Not so fried rice” to just… fried rice. Emperor’s Tso to General Tso. The rebrand nobody asked for. Honestly poetic foreshadowing of the downfall.

When we first started coming to Mogu, we thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. A healthier, fresher version of Chinese takeout that somehow didn’t sacrifice flavor. Chinese food that didn’t leave you feeling like a disgusting slob for two days after. Revolutionary. Life changing. Beautiful.

But my recent trip left me absolutely HEARTBROKEN.

The hi-mein used to be a colorful menagerie of fresh vegetables and perfectly seasoned tofu. Now it’s a pile of sad, overcooked noodles with not an ounce of color or fiber in sight.

The “not so fried rice” used to be rich, savory, deep brown, packed with edamame and carrots. Now it’s rock-hard white rice with a few dried egg fragments clinging to life and zero flavor.

And the Emperor’s Tso — once fit for royalty — is now barely fit for a peasant.

This place rose to fame by being unique and innovative in a takeout world that desperately needed it. And now? It’s speed-running its transformation into a worse version of Panda Express.

And that might be the real tragedy here: not that the food changed…
but that somewhere along the way, the soul left the building.

Wanted to try something new and found Mogu right near me. Ordered the bang bang rice with shrimp and another with steak (both mildly spicy) and they were AMAZING!! Perfect combination of spice and savory, bok choy was very nicely cooked (nice and soft). Overall, everything was delicious and will definitely be ordering here again!

I ordered catering for 15 people from Mogu in Commack. I have ordered from Mogu many times so I knew the food was delicious but I had never tried the catering. John the manager was extremely helpful with menu selection and ordering correct quantity for my group. Order was ready on time and brought out to my car. Everybody loved it. Highly recommend.

It was a quick take out. Good staff. Clean place. Great atmosphere.
The issue is with the food. We got the fried rice and sesame chicken.
It’s basically panda express at a better setting. The chicken is practically frozen nuggets refried and put in a sweet sticky sauce. The fried rice also seems to come out of a frozen bag with every egg and vegetable bit cut in shape. Tastes like Costco frozen fried rice put on a good hot wok instead of the microwave. Not returning to this place.

Pretty disappointing experience ordering from this location tonight. Marked gluten allergy, I have celiac disease. I ordered the not so fried rice as a side. Didn’t realize as a side it cannot be made gluten free. Instead of just omitting the item or calling to ask if I’d wanted something else they sent the order with sharpie writing on the bag the rice is not gluten free. Had I not seen the writing on the side of the bag I would be extremely sick.

Naomi needs a lesson in politeness the food is really good. I have been to this location a few times now but unfortunately when someone literally gives you dirty looks gets visibly annoyed when your order and doesn’t greet you or doesn’t say your welcome when you are extremely nice to them it ruins the whole experience. Please talk to this employee and let them know when you open a new location it’s all about first impressions even if the food is amazing. Nobody wants to be treated like trash when they spend their hard earned money. We get enough of that in places like McDonalds and Taco Bell unless that’s what MOGU is going for.

Here’s what I like.
1) The food is above average in Taste. Give it 4 stars.
2) After I eat it, I dont feel bad, like I do after say eating a Chinese food.
3) Food is not greasy. Someone mentioned they airfry it but not sure if that is accurate.

Here’s what I dislike.
1) if you go in and order there, you may be waiting for quite sometime for your food. Tonight, got there around 5:45 PM and ordered. I was there for 30 minutes waiting for it.

2) Best thing on their menu was Steak Eggrols, but they were discontinued.

3) Can be a bit pricey.

We had a GREAT first visit to Mogu for a quick Friday lunch. Everything was delicious and the store is clean, pretty, and comfortable.

We were greeted right away when coming in by Andrew (who was AWESOME). When we said we’d not visited yet, he gave us a great fast briefing on the menu and on their style and cooling methods.

There are menus you can take to your seat, but the ordering happens at the counter. You can also order right there at the counter, the menu is posted for viewing.

We ordered a the regular scallion pancakes, and a chicken King egg roll for appetizers, then pepper steak and tangerine chicken for entrees, both with brown rice. (Egg roll and pepper steak not pictured.) Again, everything was absolutely delicious. And their healthier cooking style was perfect for my wife’s gestational diabetes needs. We assumed she’d still end up with spiked blood sugar after the meal, but it was actually in the perfect zone! She’s NEVER been able to eat Chinese while pregnant without spiking her sugar before.

Andrew checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything was good and that we had what we needed.

We’ll definitely be back!
