First time to try the ugly dumpling brand. Great impression! Pleasant service, spacious area, ample of spacing between tables, accepts credit/debit. They have a private area for events/occassion. High chair seen. Koala kare at restroom. Clean and smelling good restroom. Ample of parking space. See images for reference.

My partner and I stopped by Ugly Dumpling in Edison for lunch, and it was a standout experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for a spot that serves high-quality, authentic dumplings with efficient service, this is it.
The Food Experience:
The menu offers a fantastic variety, and we loved the mix of traditional and plant-based options.
The Sampler: My partner had the Ugly Dumpling Sampler, which is a colorful variety of soup dumplings. I tried the chicken one, and the broth inside was incredibly savory and delicious!
Hearty Mains: He also ordered the Pork Chop Fried Rice, while I had the Shrimp Stir-Fried Noodles. Both were packed with flavor and portioned perfectly.
Vegan Excellence: We shared the Vegan Dumplings and the Spicy Vegan Wontons. It is refreshing to find a place where the vegan options are just as fresh and seasoned as the rest of the menu.
Standout Service:
I have to give a massive shoutout to our server. There was only one person working the floor when we arrived, and she handled it fantastically. She truly knew her stuff, stayed attentive, and despite being solo, our food came out in no time. That level of professionalism is rare and much appreciated!
Verdict:
Everything we ate felt fresh, refreshing, and authentic. Whether you are a meat lover or looking for great vegan fusion, Ugly Dumpling is a 10/10. We will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service at Ugly Dumpling. Alakaisha was very attentive and was knowledgeable when we asked what she would recommend. The chicken and pork soup dumplings were one of my favorite items. Would definitely recommend!

It was our first time eating here for lunch and everything was amazing! I got the soup dumpling sampler and every one was a hit! Leo was our server and he made the whole experience great! Will definitely come back soon!

I love the food and drinks here, especially the brown sugar boba. We usually order pork chops, which are immaculate, and popcorn chicken for appetizers. They have shumai as well! The fried rice is really great. I usually get the beef fried rice. The music isn’t that loud but it’s enough to get your attention, which adds to the atmosphere. To be honest, I don’t really know what type of music would befit a restaurant such as this, but it works regardless.
Today there was no wait for our seating. We had a great server, and her name was Annamaria and she was attentive and sweet as sugar (sister’s words, not mine), and she went beyond for us (my words).
Whenever I eat at this restaurant especially, I always think about how lucky I am to be able to eat—meat, boba tea, shumai, where others are unable to eat at all. If you read this review, I implore you to do the same and always be thankful for your food.

Food was bland. I was kinda sad hoping the previous reviews were wrong, but nope. Everything looks nice and the servers are good but the flavors were just not there. We also ordered the korean pancake and shrimp noodles.

1st time here for lunch. Ambience was nice with the decor. I was seated right away. They didn’t have any lunch specials 🙁 ordered a beef with noodle which came out within 5 minutes. Portion size was good, me personally would have liked a little more. Food was good and I will be back to try their dumplings

The first time eating there, and got the food home. OMGISH, it is delicious!!! Thank you Brian for recommending the pork chop fried rice. Your amazing !!! The food is so fresh and clean and delicious. Im going to be obsessed with this place! I also got the pork and shrimp wonton amd its exactly what I wanted. A side of chili oil was perfect !!! Im.comimg back next week !!!
