I really enjoyed going on a date here. The food is so good, and I really enjoyed the options of liquor and beer. I ended up having a Cadillac 1800 añejo margarita, and my partner had on tap lager beer. The drunk chips appetizer was very tasty, and the blue cheese wasn’t too much. The burgers were AMAZING; I really enjoyed the GOAT burger even though they didn’t cook it medium rare. Service was great too, even late in the night. I would go back again!

From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a great laid-back, neighborhood-burger-joint vibe. I built my own burger, and everything tasted incredibly fresh—the quality of the beef really stood out, juicy and flavorful without being overly greasy. You can tell they care about their ingredients and how everything is put together.
On the sides, the house chips were a great choice—crispy, well-seasoned, and perfect for snacking. The French fries were also a solid option, classic and cooked just right. But the real star was the poutine fries… absolute game-changer for an appetizer. Rich, indulgent, and packed with flavor, they’re a must-order if you’re dining here.
Overall, Empire Burger + Brew is a fantastic spot to come through for a quality burger, great sides, and a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience. Definitely a place I’d return to again.

Empire is a nice looking restaurant and has a nice vibe! The upstairs area was unfortunately full but it looks very inviting up there. I’ll start by saying that I had the best ginger ale ever here! We had a party of 6 and most folks got burgers and enjoyed them. I ordered the Yardbird (fried chicken sandwich) and it was good! There were 2 pieces of chicken on it, so they give you plenty. The fries were probably also the best fries I’ve ever had. Another guest had the Crispy Fish Tacos and they were good and filling! I definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to eat here the next time I’m in the area.

Good burgers. I ordered the GOAT and it was delicious. Unlike other places that use paltry amounts of crumbled goat cheese, they actually put it on thick across the patty. The fries are your average potato fries, but they’re not the star of the show. Love love love that they have more than one non-alcoholic drink option, especially non-beer ones.

We had a disappointing experience during our recent visit on January 10, 2026. My family and I came to watch the Bears game on a Sunday afternoon and were seated in the far corner of the restaurant where the game was not viewable.
We politely requested to move to one of the many open tables with a clear view of the TVs. We were told those tables were reserved in advance and unavailable. However, there were at least 10 open tables at the time with no visible indication that they were reserved. It didn’t seem fair that we were seated at a table with no view of the game, especially given the reason for our visit.
This was not our first time at Empire, and we’ve had great experiences in the past, which made this visit particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, we did not feel welcomed. At one point, we even felt that we may have been treated differently because of how we look or because we were dining with young children.
After insisting, we were eventually moved to a table with a view of the game. Throughout our dinner, at least six of the originally “reserved” tables remained open until we left.
I do want to note that our waitress was not at fault—she was kind and professional. The issue stemmed from the older woman at the front with glasses who was directing seating. She did not have a name tag.
I hope management reviews this situation, as we’ve enjoyed Empire in the past and would like to continue supporting the restaurant.

I really wanted to like this place. The menu looked good and the location was on the outskirts of Yorktown mall in Lombard. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t what we had hoped. We arrived before noon for lunch and the restaurant was nearly empty. The hostess sat us at a booth near the bar. After ordering our drinks we found ourselves swatting away fruit flies. It seemed our proximity to the drink garnish station was the cause. When the appetizer arrived so did the house flies! We actually got up and told our sever that we were moving to the other side of the restaurant. Now on the other side we were able to eat our food. For an appetizer we tried the BURGER CIGARS. I envisioned a burger patty rolled like a cigar. What we received were 3 egg rolls with crumbled ground beef and pimento cheese. Decent size and decent taste but not worth recommending. Also ordered the PORK BELLY BLT and THE GRONK burger. The pork belly was lacking seasoning and the sandwich could have really used some pickled red onion. The burger was unfortunately over cooked. When the manager asked how everything was I showed him and he did offer to make me another one however I’ve never been one to send food back. The manager did seem receptive to our feedback and hopefully it helps!

Went on a Saturday night with a small group. Appetizers were the perfect size for sharing between 5 people. The food was very good, everyone had a different sandwich and everyone was happy with their choice.
Special nod to the burger cigar appetizer, it was quite tasty.
The service was attentive, but just okay. The music was loud and made conversation difficult.
Update: 2/8/25 – visited again. The service was excellent, our waitress, Emily, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Good was really really delicious. Just a LOT of fat in the burger! 50/50 which I assumed was something else. Not a place for regular visits. Once a year shouldn’t be too bad depending on if you’re on a special diet. One of us was vegetarian and she was very happy with her meal. Soup that’s another option.
