Combined with generous portions and high-quality food, Awaafi is definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying and authentic southern Indian dining experience in Edinburgh.
My score card
Service- 10/10
Food – 8/10
Affordable- Not cheap and not expensive in the middle.
We had an amazing dining experience at Awaafi, Edinburgh. The food was outstanding and the ambience was equally impressive warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed.
We tried the Beef Ribs Mandhi, Chicken 65 (Chef’s Special), Kerala Porotta, and Iffa Chicken, and every single dish was packed with authentic flavour and cooked to perfection. The mandhi was rich and tender, the Chicken 65 had the perfect balance of spice, and the porotta with Iffa chicken was a real treat.
What made it even more special was my daughter saying it was the best Mandhi she has had anywhere in the UK and honestly, we completely agree.
A special thanks to the main chef, Naushad bhai, for such wonderful food and hospitality. You can truly feel the passion and care behind every plate.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for high quality Indian and Kerala cuisine in Edinburgh. We’ll definitely be back!
Make reservations, we waited for tables to clear for about 10-20 mins. So best to make reservations. But definitely worth the wait.
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my experience at Awafi demands one. This place is an absolute gem, and if I could give it six stars, I would! If you’re looking for genuinely good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is where you need to go.
The quality of the food here is truly exceptional. I came in recently, and I’m so glad I did because I discovered their legendary Mandi Rice. Seriously, this dish is a culinary masterpiece. It was savory, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly fresh—every single bite was pure joy. It’s the kind of meal you think about long after you’ve finished eating. That single dish alone is worth the trip!
Beyond the incredible food, the overall experience was top-notch. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the atmosphere made me feel right at home. It’s clear they take real pride in what they do.
If you are reading this, consider it your personal recommendation: run, don’t walk, to Awafi. Anyone can go there and have a fantastic meal. You won’t be disappointed!
