We’ve been going for years and it’s my family that moved out of town first stop when they come back to town but I hadn’t been in a couple years. Just went and I just have to say the baked mostaccioli was just not good. There was not much sauce. There was absolutely no meat. Just disappointing. Not sure what happened.

You’ve done me wrong for the last time. Hotdog, small fry and chocolate shake. How hard it that? The two cars in front of me took a long time to get their food so by the time I got my order, I took a fry out to test for temp. Cold and soggy. I should have just pulled around and asked for a new order, but decided not to be like that and just deal with it. Drove 5 minutes home, and the fries were cold and soggy, the hotdog cold, and my shake… not even mixed. Worst Portillos experience ever. Coming at this time I expect the fries not to be the freshest, but damn at least keep them under the heat lamp till I get to the window? At least mix the shake right? Disappointed

I honestly didn’t know that Portillo’s has started serving breakfast items and honestly, I’m not a big fan of the breakfast items the hashbrowns were hard as a brick, but the manager did offer me a replacement which was a doughnut and I thought the donut had too much chocolate on it But besides this, I always enjoy being a Portillo’s cause I feel like as always a story once you look around at the walls and the decor always enjoy Portillo’s.

I’m not familiar with which major brand purchased portillos but at this point it’s death spiraling. The burgers are thin and lack flavor that made em a huge local hit and a must try for tourists back just a few years ago. I also ordered a hotdog special which is honestly pricey but for a good Chicago dog it is worth it, this is a Chicago dog in appearance only. The sausage has more of a pinkish color than a Vienna beef and it lacks beef flavor as well, the texture is also off with a sturdiness missing. I’ll check my local one to see if it has also changed but I can guarantee I will not visit this location ever again, it doesn’t deserve the name.

I had ordered two instead of one chocolate cake by accident for a colleagues birthday. When I got there, Eileen saw my confusion where to pick up or speak to someone about my little mistake. She kindly guided me in the right direction and took my information and corrected the charge. Her personality and how fast she took care of the refund was amazing. We ended up purchasing food and dessert to go. I really love her warm welcoming attitude and quick assistance. Food was great and service is amazing! I prefer this location instead of going to the one close to downtown which is by my job. They deserve the business. Thank you, Eileen. Great chatting with you and I look forward to coming back. The spiced caramel cake was delicious…thank you!

Having frequented Portillo’s for a significant part of my life, I’ve observed its evolution firsthand. I must commend the establishment for its impeccable cleanliness and efficient management, evident every time I step in. The delightful touch of being able to purchase a cake while walking up to the register is a testament to Portillo’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience.
The recent transition to giving patrons a cup for self-service drink refills at a fountain is a modern touch, and it’s great for those who like to have control over their beverage choices and portions.
However, my connection with Portillo’s is rooted deeply in nostalgia, particularly the tastes and flavors of their offerings. My recent order of the big beef with juicy peppers left me somewhat disappointed. The beef felt noticeably thinner, and the broth, once rich and flavorful, now had an overwhelming taste of salt. Over the years, it seems there’s been a shift in the quality of some of their products. For long-time patrons like myself, it’s saddening to witness some of the classic recipes undergoing changes, making them lean more towards a generic fast-food taste than the high-quality broth gravy we once adored.
In conclusion, while I appreciate the modern updates and Portillo’s commitment to service and cleanliness, I miss the original flavors that initially drew me to this beloved establishment.

My husband came in at lunch today 2/27/2026 at 11:30 am and ordered a pepper and egg sandwich. He started throwing up at 3:00 and is still throwing up. He has had all the symptoms of food poisoning. No cold or flu FOOD POISONING! I’ve tried to call the restaurant and nobody answers. Very upsetting!

I came here with my at-the-time girlfriend in 2010. We were in a long distance relationship. She was from Texas. They don’t have Portillo’s in Texas (or at least they didn’t in 2010). So she pronounced it “poor•tea•yoze”, which most people don’t realize is the correct/authentic pronunciation of the name. En español, the “double L” (ll) is pronounced like a “Y”. We’ve been broken up for over 15 years now, but I still pronounce “Portillo’s” as “poor•tea•yoze”.
