We had heard very good things about the food, we had been waiting awhile after they opened to give them a fair chance. First and foremost, our service was fantastic. We did not have a long wait on our food. Our waitress was great. The food was presented very nicely. I ordered the smoked chicken breast, I was expecting and whole breast, not slices. The chicken tasted good but it was to dry. I personally did not care for the baked beans, chose a side salad as part of my order, there is an up charge. My husband and I split an order of pork rinds they were very good. The food in my opinion is not worth the price. Two of us it was over $70, not including the tip. The menu stated 31.00 for a full rack of ribs, which my husband had. On the receipt we were charged 32.99.
They definitely are not the best BBQ in southern IL.

Went to Dave’s new restaurant today with our family! We loved their food truck and had to try their new restaurant out! We got brisket sandwhiches, seasoned fries, a baked potato and the smokehouse loaded baked potato(which are HUGE! I could only eat half of it!) chicken strips and fries, piggy Mac and bbq nachos! Also not pictured is their pulled pork sandwich! All are sooo amazing and delicious! The nachos were a full size, with honey bbq sauce and it’s sooo good! I loved the potatoes(something new I’ve finally been able to try!).

What an awful experience and waste of 53.?? For only two people! Even butter is on menu for .75 cents! Save your money and go to POP’s. Owner finally come out to speak to us and rude to our family, they have cold fries, over cooked chicken strips, leathery slices of chicken. We did have an amazing baked potato, but we all can get that anywhere! Nevertheless less, the owner was extremely rude to my husband, my sister, and 73 year old mother. Didn’t want to hear our concerns pushed it off that he had no complaints today! Well obviously no one had given him constructive criticism to help save his business from failure! No one that spends their hard earned money wants someone talking down to them, especially after getting horrible food! Yesterday’s meat maybe that hadn’t sold??? We will never go back! Oh yeah, surprised also each side carried an additional charge of 2.99 each. So 6.00 each was added to our 14.00 to 16.00 meal! If you’re silly enough to go instead spend 50.00 bucks for some steak at Texas Roadhouse or enjoying BlazingTrails BbQ who treats their customers amazing… you will regret it!

I walked in and there for one is no air circulating. I just want to say that I probably won’t be back for the amount they charged for a medium baked potato in comparison to Blazing trails jumbo baked potatoes located a mile south of West Frankfort if your willing to drive. The left or top picture is Dave’s medium potato compared to the jumbo blazing trails baked potato on the right or bottom. Dave’s is almost 15 and I believe Blazing Trails is 13 unless there are new prices due to the Tarriffs. So you guys pick the public can decide.

We were in town for a sporting event and were so happy we found this place. We had the meat sampler and it was all amazing. We were impressed with the side dishes as well, especially the broccoli salad. The service was great along a nice, clean atmosphere. We will definitely be back when we are in town.

I ordered a full rack rib dinner with baked beans and fries Ribs had no season and it says smokehouse but no smoke flavor.Did not care for the beans .These were the 2nd worst ribs ever eaten in Illinois. The price on the menu was different the the prison the receipt it was like $2 more than the menu price.i did not say anything just wanted to be gone.I brought the leftover ribs home and my grandson ate on rib and said yuck we threw them away.The waitress was a good server with tip it cost me $45..I will never return.The worst ribs was Fridays restaurant in Effingham.

I’m an elderly lady that not been feeling well, yet I got out in the horrible weather because I’ve felt so down. My waitress rolled her eyes and was irritated with me for asking questions? She keep looking around and the body language told it all. I’m on a fixed budget I ordered a BBQ sandwich and my two sides. I got cold food and dry BBQ it almost choked me with my cup empty all i had was ice? It was awful then I asked for my food to be warmed and got horrible attitude from owner. My meal had turned from 6.00 BBQ to 23.00 from 3.00 each sides upgrade each pricing. Dang, talk about bait and switch, please beware! I’m disgusted by how i was treated, the rudeness, then undisclosed pricing, and over all its not worth it. Please take note any senior on fixed income please beware go elsewhere! Save your money for bills and meds! This place is a rip off enjoy Chinese or something else where you get your money’s worth!! Instead BBQing meay maybe you should go into the leather tooling business. Per reviews and attitude this owner seems to be a very angry person. The reviews seem to all have the same narratives with no attempt to fix issues for customers just berate them for honest reviews.

This is the absolute WORST bbq I’ve ever had in my life. The mac n cheese had no seasoning whatsoever, the baked beans tasted sour, the brisket tasted like chemicals, the chicken was so dry and flavorless, the mac n tomatoes were very watery, the bacon wrapped sausage was burnt to a crisp to the point it couldn’t be eaten even if we tried. The only side we got that actually tasted “semi-okay” AFTER we seasoned it up ourselves, was the potato salad. We came from out of state for a graduation and got this food and ended up going to get fast food afterwards instead. Extremely disappointed that we spent $88 on this nasty food.

We have waited patiently for them to get through their growing pains of opening a new restaurant before trying it. We were extremely pleased all the way around! It was a busy Friday evening, and we were seated immediately. The server was attentive and kept our drinks full. We waited about 15 minutes for our food (5 of us) and everything was delicious! I had the brisket plate, wife had bacon wrapped sausage, others had pulled pork sandwiches and nachos, all was hot, fresh and tasty. Had some apple crisp for dessert and enjoyed that as well. We look forward to coming back!
