“Not my usual kind of place”. That being said, it could be. The food was was of the highest caliber for taste, flavor and ingredients. I had the pork loin calabrese, my wife had the steak. Both were juicy tender and seasoned to perfection. The appetizers we had were the short rib crustini ( off the chain good) and fried zuchini the marinara was exactly as it should be for those who grew up on the Island with Italian influence everywhere. The atmosphere was wonderful very subtle and warming to feel comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional but still making you feel welcome. If you have the chance to go here for date night or any other night do so you will not regret it.

This is our first visit to George White and it was very nice. The ambiance is warm and friendly as is the service and staff.
We started with an appetizer of calamari and spinach artichoke dip both of which were excellent.
We were a party of four and the entrees ordered were, chicken cordon bleu, blackened salmon, braised short rib add a rack of baby back ribs which was highly recommended. Everything was good except the baby back ribs. They were overcooked and slathered with barbecue sauce. Very mundane for a dish that was so highly recommended. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their meal.
For dessert, 1 tiramisu was ordered and one cheesecake. Three drinks in one soda was ordered with the meals as well and we each got a coffee to finish the night. The meal for the four of us came to $250 before tax tip and credit card charge which brought the total bill to approximately $320.
I might go back but I won’t be ordering the baby back ribs.

Tonight was my first time here, I will definitely be back the atmosphere just hits right, the drinks are mixed perfectly and the food from the appetizer to the main course, especially their homemade bread was just amazing!!! Highly recommended

I can’t speak highly enough about this restaurant. Your dining experience will be terrific. The service is wonderful and the food is spectacular. My husband and I had a romantic dinner here last month for the first time, and when I asked him where he wanted to celebrate his birthday a few days ago, he instantly said George White’s. This time we brought our sons with us, and they also enjoyed their meals. We can’t wait to come back.

First time eating here for restaurant week. The service was excellent, great atmosphere and good food. We had the regular and short ribs, muscles, carrot cake and cannoli for desert. The food was prepared well however it was missing the wow factor. Nothing overly flavorful or seasoned. I was a bit disappointed but all and all a good dinner and experience.

My family had a great experience here. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the hospitality of the owner’s Cathy and Frank, as well as Frank’s sister Finette. They couldn’t be nicer and made us feel at home.
Cathy made great cocktails. I enjoyed the Leeche Martini and my dad loved his Classic Gin Martini.
As for food, my wife and I split the Swiss Cheese Burger which was delicious and for dessert a very tasty chocolate cake!
Throughout our time there we enjoyed wonderful conversations with Cathy, Frank and Finette. It was obvious that they loved what they do and care about their customers.

Great atmosphere, bar was awesome, drinks were perfect, all staff were incredible. If you’re in the area and looking for lunch, dinner or just drinks, I absolutely recommend. You will not be disappointed.
