Walking in, the atmosphere was really nice. The guy behind the counter was friendly, explained their process, and let us know there would be a bit of a wait. We all ordered the ribs and brisket platter with two sides. He told us it would take about 30–40 minutes, which seemed reasonable for barbecue.
We grabbed a table outside, ordered a couple of beers and a soda, and I have to say—the hard cider was incredible. I don’t remember the brand, but he mentioned it was local, and it was definitely a standout.
While we waited, I watched the pit master going back and forth between the pits and the barbecue area, which was reassuring. When the plates came out, everything looked great. I chose baked beans and potato salad. The beans were excellent; the potato salad was just okay—not bad, but nothing special.
The brisket had a nice smoke ring, good flavor, and wasn’t dry, which I appreciated. The ribs were sauced, but not with a traditional barbecue sauce—more of a grilled-style glaze. Still tender, still pulled clean off the bone, and overall very good.
My only real critique is the trio platter. You can’t choose your meats—it comes pre‑selected. Personally, I like being able to customize, especially if I want double ribs, double brisket, or a mix like tri‑tip, ribs, and brisket. Adding a “choose your own trio” option would be a great improvement.
One of the regulars came in while we were eating and told me their brisket sandwich is amazing, so that’s what I’ll be trying next time.
All in all, the food was really good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was solid. I’d love to give it five stars, but the wait time was a bit excessive for my taste. So for now, it’s a strong four stars—and if the wait is shorter next time, I could easily bump that up to five.
The manager went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of and even the owner—who I spoke with on the phone—came across as such a genuinely great guy. You can really tell they care about their guests.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cool and inviting, and the whole night felt effortless thanks to their hospitality. If you’re looking for a spot with great food, great vibes, and even better people behind it, this is it. Thank you Hangry Herd.
This time, we made our reservation for 4:30 P.M. we arrive early, and were able to order and sit immediately. We ordered the Trio-Platters with baked beans and potato salad and the Mac and cheese. All of the meats were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how moist the chicken was, with really good flavor. The baked beans though? Absolutely delicious. I would go back just for those.
Overall it was very good, the place was clean, staff was friendly, and I feel like I got a decent amount of food for my money.
The only thing I would suggest to the owner is that the labels on the sauces have larger print. The sauces were good, but it was super hard to read the flavors.
The atmosphere was relaxing and we would go back again.
Thanks for the response, you may want to educate the wait staff then, first thing I asked him was, “what was the happy hour specials”, and his reply was we don’t have one, and we’ve never had one……………..
OK…. so I guess there is some miss communication…??
The food was delicious . We had the trio and our LO had pulled pork. The brisket was so tender! Everything was flavorful without being too salty!
The place was clean and stylish. They were even fre tampons in the bathroom- those little touches go such a long way we dined inside but admired this area for our puppy when we come back
Waiting 40 minutes is unacceptable when there’s NOBODY ahead of me!
Staff will walk around the restaurant, but avoid clearing tables that were empty for the 1.5 hours I was there!
NOBODY moves with a purpose.
The portions are incredibly small for the price.
The music is irritating.
The food is dry, and cold, but the presentation was nice.
They ran out of ribs and brisket, so they served me pork and chicken instead !
It’s not the kind of place I would want to return to, but worth visiting and creating your own options.
