We’ve been ordering from Mama’s Pizza for years and have always loved their pizza. It’s been one of our go-to spots because the flavor and quality used to be consistently great.
Unfortunately, lately we’ve noticed some changes. Our recent orders have been arriving late and the food has been cold by the time it gets to us. We’ve also noticed that the wings aren’t the same quality they used to be — they seem smaller and not as flavorful as before.
We’re sharing this because we truly want to see Mama’s Pizza succeed. We’ve been loyal customers for a long time and hope the consistency and quality we loved for years can return.

The parmesan peppercorn wings are always top notch the onion rings we love the mozzarella sticks, my daughter that’s her favorite. She gets it every single time in the California cheesesteaks are really good also along with the regular cheesesteaks, but we are definitely big big on the wings. best wings around by far.

The food here is delicious. The prices on the google menu were a little deceptive.
I ordered 2 specialty pizzas listed as $14.99 and one large with pepperoni (I would assume it was less than a specialty pizza)….and it cost me $60.
When I later downloaded the app and looked at the prices I understood…..
$14.99 was the price for a small.
$20 isn’t a bad price for a specialty pizza… I was just caught off guard.

I’m really disappointed because they have great food, and it’s one of my families go to’s. Unfortunately, there has never been a time where I ordered from here and they’ve gotten my order correct. Tonight I ordered a buffalo chicken cheesesteak with extra blue cheese. Not only did they not put extra blue cheese; they didn’t put any at all. And this is the 3rd time I’ve ordered this an it happened. Last week it was my salad that they put the wrong toppings on. Another time it was my Stromboli that that made wrong. I hate to give bad reviews, and honestly it’s taken so many times of them not making things right for me to even write a bad review. I just wish they had people working who paid more attention to what they were doing.

I can’t give no place a perfect score because every establishment will always have room for improvement, but the service and food does come pretty damn close, I do recommend if you are near by to stop in and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

In search of the best Meatball Sub in Reading, Pa I ordered from Mama’s on Rockland. This place has a reputation for putting out good food and quality service. So I decided to see for myself. I ordered a large meatball sub. On a toasted roll with light sauce & extra cheese. I am not a fan of their fries. I do not like the brand used. They were tasty and the cheese wasn’t watered down like others are. It’s a good fry, but not for me. As for the meatball sub, I was delighted when I was handed the bag because I felt two containers which meant my sandwich was in a container. As I said before, wrapping a meatball sub in paper/foil is such a bad thing. When I opened the container, my nose hairs began to dance as I was greeted with a scent of . I inhaled very deeply to take it all in. This sub was the best smelling hot sandwich I’ve ever smelled. I don’t know if they put garlic on it or if the employee had garlic in the hands before making my sub, but boy oh boy it smelled delicious. The sub was beautiful. The cheese was melted perfectly and the amount of sauce was just right. If you know me, you know that I am not a fan of red sauce on hot sandwiches because most places do the bare minimum and don’t add webs and spices to their sauce. As was the case of “Corner Mart” located at the former V&S location on 9th street. BTW Google has yet to add that business so I cannot write a review on them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND that place. Consider them lucky. Mama’s on the other hand has good sauce. Enough spices were added to break down the acidity in the tomatoes. There wasn’t too much of one spice or not enough of another spice. Their sauce had an equal balance to it which made the sub that more pleasurable. Too me, this sub did not have extra cheese on it. Does it look like it to YOU? If this was extra cheese, I’d hate to see what normal is. I grabbed the first half and noticed that the meatball was cut. That made me smile as I took my first bite. Mmmmm very good as I closed my eyes to enjoy what I thought may be the best meatball sub yet, BUT I was quickly irritated because halfway through the first half of sandwich, the meatballs were left whole. I picked up the second half and what do ya know. Every meatball on this half was whole. I couldn’t believe it. At first glance, it seemed as if this sub and fries were prepared with love & affection, but that was not the case. Anyway, I ate the rest of the sub and enjoyed it even though my meatballs “Pause” weren’t cut. Overall, it still was one of the best I’ve ever had. Is it the best meatball sub in Reading, Pa? That remains to be seen. I have 2 more reviews out of 10 to go to find out who has the best meatball sub in Reading, Pa. Until then, my name BigDaveIsFat says it all. “Get Your Grub On!”
