My backend Mahi Mahi sandwich was great. Not overly seasoned. The Cuban sandwich not to salty & clean. Po’Boy sandwich was tasty. The crab dip is cheesy & delicious. Friendly staff, spacious seating & clean bathroom.

My first time dining here was Saturday night with my sister. We were lucky enough to get a table in the veranda so we could watch the Christmas boat parade which was delightful.
Our waitress was super accommodating and friendly and helped us with selecting from the menu.
The food, simply incredible. We started with the cream of crab soup which was delicious. I ordered crab bruschetta as my main, even though it’s an appetizer. They certainly didn’t skimp on the fresh jumbo lump crab meat.
My sister ordered the broiled seafood combo. Everything was great. The scallops were incredible and cooked perfectly. The crab cake was all crab with some seasoning. Delightful!
For dessert I ordered the pumpkin bread pudding and she had the Godiva chocolate cheesecake. I had a few bites of hers and OMG I need to order that next time!
Great experience and we will be returning to try some of the other great choices.

Had a decent dinner here while visiting the area on vacation. I enjoyed my 14oz ribeye steak and lump crab cake even if the meal was a bit spendy (about $60). It’s kind of par for the course around here. We went in November which is the off season but none of the prices had come down. The fact that they maintain the same high level of friendly service and food for any palate is amazing in itself. I have not lived in this area for 40yrs and last visit was 10 yrs ago but the expectation was fulfilled. Attentive, friendly service from Willa, we had the crab cakes, oysters, crab dip and the non-seafood girl enjoyed her (giant) Caesar salad. The sweet potato fries (with cinnamon sauce) were a treat. It was so good – had to get one to go! Beautiful waterfront views but the winds made the outdoor dining a bit too chilly for us Florida folk! Will certainly return on the next visit.

Always a favorite stop in northern Maryland. Great atmosphere both inside and out. On a gorgeous day, this is the place to be. Prices are on the upper end, but food quality is top notch. Service was prompt and courteous. Food arrived in a timely manner and was proper temp. Menu is kid friendly as well. Worth a stop if you are the area and want to relax with a view.

We returned to Schaefer’s Canal House for early dinner in August 2025. This is a terrific waterfront restaurant on the C & D Canal. Service was timely and friendly as we dined on the outdoor deck. My companion had a Seafood Salad with crab, shrimp, & lobster, stuffed avocado, with fresh fruit. I chose the French Dip with fries. Both were delicious. Since it was Happy Hour, we each chose an adult beverage. My companion chose a strawberry daiquiri. I chose a Dirty Banana. Both were delicious and we viewed these as dessert. Fortunately the restaurant was not too busy on a Monday afternoon.

Covered outdoor seating overlooking the C&D Canal, combined with great service from Maddy made for a great dining experience. The crab dip was rich and delicious. The flounder stuffed with crab meat and panko shrimp meals were both generous and well prepared.
