Glad I don’t judge by first appearance. Torn seats, filthy vents, and not a soul there, not even a server. We had to go to the kitchen to even find someone.
Food was fresh to order. Fried calamari was heavy. Glad the beverages were free refill because the cup was packed with so much ice it couldn’t even fit half capacity for liquid. In January that much ice is just excessive.
Quesadilla was stuffed, big pieces of chicken. Bread sticks were light, fluffy, and had a very mild cheese flavor. Marinara sauce tasted watered down to me but my husband said it’s just heavy on the tomato. Garlic knots were nicely sized (big) with good flavor and not swimming in oil which was appreciated.
“Hamburger” (comes plain you add toppings) the burger itself was thick but also dry. (Cooked medium) the burger itself had no flavor and really needed the toppings. My husband got the 5 alarm burger, he said the flavor was good, had mild heat, but the burger itself was dry and burnt (ordered medium). Husband enjoyed the waffle fries. I ordered curly fries but was given regular whether you get regular or steak fries they come out with no salt initially, you add your own salt. Both types are thick cut and pillowy in the middle.
Turkey wrap was stuffed with deli sliced thin turkey. Both my wrap and burger had mayo but I couldn’t taste the mayo. Lettuce inside was chipped iceburg. Ratio was quite good in the wrap personally I would just choose a different sauce next time like ranch or something.
Salad + bread that came with the pasta dish tasted fresh, their balsamic is quite tasty. Bruschetta was served on a slice of garlic bread and was overwhelmingly oily to the point I couldn’t taste the actual tomatoes.
Seafood combo with fettuccine noodles in a white wine sauce was packed with flavor, the sauce was creamy and a bit heavy. The dish was made fresh and steaming upon arrival. Shrimp were nice and big with tails on. Scallops were a good size and cooked well. Overall I enjoyed the dish.
Finally the vanilla milkshake was thick but not too thick and made with middle quality icecream, not the best but not cheap either. Had decent flavor for being vanilla without punching the mouth.
Our waitress was very nice and considerate she gave us to go boxes and kept our drinks full.
Located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking.
The interior has an upscale diner type vibe.
The servers are friendly and sweet.
And the food was very solid.
We got the cheesesteak, cheeseburger, reuben, and hot roast beef.
The only setback were the portions. Definitely on the smaller side, especially the reuben and the burger, but thank goodness they were tasty.
I would come back again for a future visit.
On the flip side, the slices were very good. One of the tops in the area from what I’ve tried. They definitely do good work there for sure.
definitely over priced for their portions and overall food quality
I visited on a Wednesday night. Menu was surprisingly large with many options – pizza, sammies, and dinner entrees. I was in the mood for some comfort food. I ordered the Italian pressed panini and a side order of waffle fries. Loved the sammie. It was filled with Italian meats and cheeses and no veggies. I glorified grilled cheese but oh so good when you had a bad day and are looking for some comfort food. 🙂
I would recommend if in the area and looking for a casual dining option.
