Had a really great experience this past Saturday. We were walk-ins and were planning on sitting at the bar but it was full. Bill the owner seated us at a table and very quickly brought our drinks over. It was a level of service that I hadn’t experienced in a while. Our server and meal was also great. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Have to share how wonderful of an experience we had at our first time @ 2 hopewell. When you walk in the setting is barn romantic. Between the little tea lights and the candles and the flowers on the table, the ambience is on fire for a romantic place. The food was the biggest chefs kiss I could give it. Absolutely out of this world. Our waiter was so nice. We had amazing drinks and he made really great recommendations as well. Desserts were artistic and you can tell a lot of thought went into them like everything was just super creative in the food. This is that perfect place for a special occasion anniversary date night. Highly recommend!

This place used to be a gem but tonight wasn’t a good night. Saturday with a reservation for the tavern. We were seated quickly but that’s when the clock started. Our order was taken in reasonable time, but our food took 1hour and 10min to arrive. Meanwhile other tables were getting food. I asked at the 50-minute mark if it would be much longer and was told YES because the kitchen got a bunch of orders at once. Super disappointed! We don’t get to go out much and to be honest with the absurd amount of time we waited a round of drinks on the house would have been appropriate. No apology, no discount. My wife’s chicken Milanese had zero flavor. My scallops were good but you’re already disappointed by the time the food comes due to the wait. Probably won’t be back. J Gilbert’s is on another level compared to 2 Hopewell these days.

We ordered House made meatballs (lemon parmesan risotto, pomodoro, basil oil) and Beef tips (house rub, fried rice, mushrooms, onion, broccoli, pineapple teriyaki), and it was delicious!

I first visited this spot back 2-3 years ago for a special dinner, and yet again last night. And I’m glad to say both times have been amazing, and I’m glad the bistro is still consistently good! Staff is very friendly, and the interior feels very homey. The dishes are flavored really well and can be shared with another. The prices are affordable also. Mushroom toast was incredible with a thick cut of bread, the ribs fall off the bone, and the fish just melts in your mouth. Highly recommend for a special dinner!

Firstly, $4 for a regular coffee in an Irish coffee cup is deplorable. It’s not even flavored coffee. The most that should have been was $2. If that.
I decided to get a wedge salad, which arrived DRENCHED in dressing. I mean DRENCHED. I literally had to choke it down, and wasn’t sending it back, but was very disappointed with it, because I’m sure if it were made correctly, it would have been good.
The focaccia was amazing though, and I would highly recommend it.

Small homely place with a rustic feel and unique menu. The Whistler was an interesting cocktail and the Peach Blanco sounded better than it tasted. A different Caesar salad with kale offered a bitterness that lacked a sweet counter but overall was very good. Another appetizer we had was the fried short rib mac n cheese bites, which were fantastic! My wife and I got the Airline Chicken and Short Ribs, both of which were very good. The Airline Chicken especially had great spice that was complimented by the feta watermelon salad and hearty cauliflower mash and squash. The short ribs were very flavorful but needed more gnocchi. To finish we got sorbet (too small) and the Blueberry Crisp (excellent). Overall it was a great experience and I would love to go back.

I tried there caprese flatbread, farro bowl and veg terrine. The food was delicious and portion size was great. For drinks tried darungo cocktail which was good as well. Food is pricey though. Ambiance was nice except for the loud crowd
