Charley’s Steakhouse delivers a unique experience, but it definitely comes with a few highs and a couple misses.
First, the aesthetic could use some updating — unless “medieval banquet hall” is the intended vibe. It feels a bit dated. That said, their open-fire cooking concept is impressive. All steaks are cooked over real fire — no gas grills, no flat tops — just flame and a cast iron sear. You can absolutely taste that difference.
One thing I really appreciated is that they bring out the different fresh cuts of meat wrapped and displayed so you can browse and choose your exact selection. They’re also big on customization — size, thickness, temperature — which is a great touch for steak lovers.
We ordered the Ultimate Surf & Turf: fried colossal lobster tail with a 20oz chateaubriand filet cooked medium. Unfortunately, the first filet came out medium-well, almost well. They immediately apologized and went to work correcting it. They encouraged us to continue enjoying our sides and lobster while they prepared a fresh plate, and they went above and beyond to make it right — bringing us lobster bisque, another round of drinks, and later comping our butter cake.
The second filet had more pink but still wasn’t quite medium. At that point, we chose not to send it back again.
Now, let’s talk highlights.
The fried lobster tail was excellent — perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. The spicy remoulade paired beautifully with it. The crab cakes may have been the best savory item on the table — packed with flavor and very little filler. The cedar plank cauliflower was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning. The house salad was solid.
And the butter cake? That stole the show. Absolute perfection.
The spicy prickly pear margarita was also delicious — balanced with just the right kick.
While they struggled to nail the steak temperature, their customer service truly made up for it. They handled the situation professionally and generously, which says a lot about how they value their guests.
Overall: great service, standout seafood and dessert, memorable fire-cooked concept — just be prepared that steak doneness might be slightly inconsistent.

Certainly a “Cut Above”. My bartender, Jonothan did a wonderful job. He gave me solid and honest recommendations. The bread was right out of the oven, heavenly inside. The salad was possibly the freshest salad I have ever had. Every bite was so crisp. The dressing was tasty and just the right amount. My steak was expertly prepared. The baked potato, prepared tableside was very good. I very much enjoyed this meal and shall return.

Our family went to Charley’s Steakhouse for my daughter‘s birthday. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the wood fire grill and you know you’re gonna be in for a great meal. The hostess sat us down and our waiter, Josh immediately came to our table and introduced himself. He offered us some amazing drinks and made some suggestions for appetizers.
Josh was amazing the entire night with A+ service. I have been dining out for many years and have to say this was one of my best if not the best restaurant experiences my family and I have had. Our waiter was extremely friendly and had a great attitude throughout the night. He would always show up at the right time and knew how to make his customers happy. He went out of his way for my daughter‘s birthday and brought her extra items such as wagyu meatballs and a dessert to make her birthday experience an amazing one.
Are appetizers and steaks were so delicious. The steaks were tender and cooked to perfection with a beautiful char on top. We added the truffle butter to the steaks, which Josh recommended and it did not disappoint. Even the desserts were amazing. We really did enjoy our night at the restaurant and my daughter kept thanking me for bringing her to Charley’s Steakhouse. You can’t ask for more when you get great food, excellent service and a wonderful night out with the family.
Next time our family visits Orlando, we are going straight to Charley’s Steakhouse and asking for Josh. This will be our go to place from now on, when we are in town.
Thank you, Josh for making my daughter‘s birthday a memorable one.

We visited for my birthday and I have to say this was one of THEE best steaks I have ever had! I hadn’t visited Charlie’s in years and decided to come back because of the email I received from Talk of the Town . So I decided to give it a chance again. We were seated by the manager Teresa who was pleasant and left her business card gave me a birthday wish and said if we needed anything to let her know. For appetizers we got the escargot and the lobster bisque the escargot was fantastic and the lobster bisque had a few pieces of lobster and tasty. My boyfriend ordered the smoked old fashioned and it was one of his favorite old fashioneds ever! He got the 24oz porterhouse and I got the ribeye. The steaks were cooked to perfection and we got a side of the bacon cheddar mashed potatoes. A special shout out goes to Victoria the hostess for her friendly attitude and most importantly for seating us with Angeline! Angeline gave us an AWESOME experience and really me feel special and taken care of. There were many little extra touches that she provided to make the experience special . She was funny, personable and patient with my boyfriend it was his first time visiting Charleys) she really made us feel appreciated for our business which is SUPER important when you’re spending that kind of money on a meal. It was worth every penny. The experience was so good that he suggested Charleys for his office holiday dinner and we’ll be there in 2weeks with 12 people! The only “criticism” i would have is this: I am a part of the “Talk of the Town” VIP club, I celebrated my birthday and for a meal that cost north of $300 it would have been nice for the “complimentary dessert” to be more than just a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. I think for the amount of money that was paid for the meal, comping an $18 dessert would be a great way to show customers that you appreciate them spending their money and time in your establishment on special occasions like they used to do here at Charlie’s in the past. There are other establishments with the same price point that haven’t stoped doing a free dessert on birthdays and anniversaries.

When going to this type of restaurant you have a certain set of expectations, and our expectations were not met. They have valet, which is convenient. Our initial interaction was not good. We were met by a rude hostess. She seemed annoyed that we did not have a reservation. I had checked OpenTable earlier that day and the restaurant had completely open availability, so we didn’t make a reservation. We ordered drinks and a member of our party had to switch out hers because when she took a drink she coughed because it was so strong. (it was unsweetened tea) I ordered a side salad and there were only three dressing options. You can tell from the picture the lettuce was also not fresh. I appreciated the steak tray they brought out to go over the steak options. My husband and I ordered the Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye for two. This particular steak is finished table side. We ordered medium and when he started to put the steak on our plate we stopped him. It was still rare. When we mentioned it, the guy mumbled something and reluctantly continued to cook it. We ended up accepting it at medium rare. Neither myself nor my husband were a fan of either side items we received. They were under seasoned and underdeveloped. With this price point you wouldn’t expect the wait staff to be reaching over the guests to give another guest their food/drink. That was constant. After our meal, we waited about 25 minutes to get the check. When the waiter finally came back with the check we were all beyond ready to leave. I don’t mind splurging on a good meal every now and then, if the cost of the meal actually has equivalent value. Overall, the cost was insane and the overall value for the service/food was non- existent.

Charley’s is hands down our favorite steakhouse, and last night proved exactly why. We celebrated our son’s 15th birthday and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The manager even came out with an amuse bouche to kick things off, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the steak presentation never gets old — it’s always such a great experience.
Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. We never had to ask for a single thing. He was attentive without being intrusive and truly elevated the whole evening.
We started with the lobster bisque (incredible), calamari, and shrimp cocktail — all delicious. My husband and I shared a porterhouse with au gratin potatoes, asparagus, and a one-pound Australian rock lobster that was out of this world. Our son had the ribeye filet with a fully loaded baked potato and loved every bite.
We’ve had amazing steaks in New York and San Francisco, but we always come back to Charley’s. The quality, service, and overall experience are unmatched. It’s consistently outstanding and always worth it. Can’t wait to return!

Charley’s was an absolutely wonderful experience. We tried almost every steak option they had available, multiple sides and even the chicken and everything was spectacular. Our server Brooke, was incredible. She was so fast on refilling drinks, giving us a presentation on the meat cuts available, dealing with our antics, and generally being pleasant. She has worked at Charley’s for 17 years and clearly knows her stuff. She was even kind enough to join us in our group photo. If you are going to eat at Charley’s, I extremely recommend asking for Brooke as your server. You will not be disappointed.

If I could give a restaurant 10 stars! We came to Charley’s as our last dinner of our babymoon and it was the best decision. Our servers Erleen and Charles made the whole experience for us. We already love steak but the selection was a bit overwhelming. They recommended some amazing cuts and were really honest about the portion size so we wouldn’t over order. We got the 28oz prime dry aged porter house and black angus ribeye fillet. They were cooked to PERFECTION and well seasoned. It was definitely a lot of steak for 2 people but it was worth it to try different cuts. We also got the lobster mac and cheese and it was amazing. We normally skip on dessert but got the butter cake and it was insane. So crisp, dense and simple in the best way possible. I love the decor and atmosphere but mostly the service. Everyone is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They made sure everything was cooked and made to our liking.

The food was good, my first steak wasn’t right, but the waitress got the manager and they made it all good. The salad was really good, they also give you bread that was good. They have sides to go with it but honestly you get full off meat and salad with bread. The manager Theresa was helpful with a smile. Our waitress Nahomy was fantastic and attentive. Now this place is expensive but they do want everything to be good. They do not do military.

There is a simple reason why this restaurant is so popular and well reviewed. It’s because they’ve earned it with their food and amazing service. We had a group of 60 and the waitstaff was on top of it! They never missed a beat, it was actually impressive how well they handled this size crowd.
And the food was done perfectly and everyone got what they wanted. There were no mistakes etc. The 10 people at my table were all very pleased with their meals. My porterhouse steak looked so good, I forgot to take a photo of it. I couldn’t wait to eat it. But I made sure to get a picture of the lobster that came on the seafood tower as well as the dessert tray we got.
There’s no way you will not have a good meal here!
