Tucci Restaurant: Exceptional Italian Cuisine in Lake Oswego
Reviews
Italian establishment ls this was not our favorite. We really enjoyed sharing the wedge salad. Appetizer of roasted cauliflower. But both of
Our more classic Italian dishes lacked subtle refinement. He had Gorgonzola gnocchi with arugula on top (not very Gorgonzola-ey and topped with basalmic which was sweet enough to be a reduction and distrracting). I had the pasta with lamb and
Mushrooms in a tomato cream sauce. But the sauce was just bright and peppery enough that I could not fully enjoy the subtleties of them and rather chaotically competed.
While they suggested the tiramisu, don’t go there –
Ingredients not coalesced and lots of cream.
Service was standout- our server Doug was conscientious about course timing and let us try wines before buying bottled.
Given that it was a $200 +tip dinner for two of us, compatible with the other Italian restaurants we go to in Lake Oswego. We think it is three stars. If it had been more competitive price, we might have thought the value would bring up the stars, but that is not the case!
The food was fresh, authentic, and served promptly with a smile. Whether it was refilling our glasses or checking in just at the right moments, the service was flawless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, memorable night out with family!
My personal favorite dish is the “Raviolini” a vegetarian dish with mild squash, stuffed in delicious pillows of pasta. My daughter loves the Fettuccine Alfredo.
We always get an order of the garlic bread, a Caesar salad salad, and recently I tried the beet salad which I highly recommend.
I attend theatre performances in Lake Oswego monthly and my group of friends and I always return to Tucci for a meal.
Thank you, Tucci!
I ordered the beet salad which was refreshing and full of flavor, though it came on a bed of romaine that felt a bit unexpected. My husband had the carbonara, which had high-quality ingredients and decent flavor. I also enjoyed an old-fashioned from the bar, which was well-crafted. We wrapped up with affogato for dessert, which was satisfying.
Overall, it was a good experience, but the bathrooms could have been cleaner, which was a bit of a letdown. Parking was decent and the ambiance was nice. I’d give this restaurant another try, maybe during the day, to see how it stacks up!
I ordered the Mama Calda pizza. Definitely a two or three person meal. I ate one slice and I was full. It was a bit too heavy on the cheese and toppings for me.
My husband ordered the gnocchi. The flavor of the sauce was fantastic.
We were lucky enough to sit in one of their cozy high-backed booths on a Friday night and were pleased to find a happy hour menu with both food and drink on it.
The two of us ordered meatballs, risotto fritters, and Caesar salad from the happy hour menu. My date is a carbonara junkie so we tried Tucci’s and both agreed everything was AWESOME except the carbonara. The carbonara was good, but I would’ve appreciated housemade pasta and a creamier texture for the price of $30.
Fantastic service from the young server and a wonderful atmosphere. We will be back again for sure!
UPDATE
Last time dining as a family here since the prices have gone up. We will stick to just the two of us unless we want to only order from the happy hour menu. Food was pretty good as usual, but $15 for a tiny serving of mashed potatoes is robbery. They need to eval their prices if they want to keep families coming in the door.
