At our Batesville, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This is the first visit to a Captain Ds in DECADES. We did drive thru b/c of convenience so I can’t comment on atmosphere. I honestly think there was only 2 employees working so it some time for us to get our food but when we did get it, it was hot and very good. The bast fast food I’ve had in a LONG time. Kudos to Bobby and his coworkers. They were professional, polite and efficient . They deserve raises for their work.

The food is always good here, though it has gotten pricey over the years. Some days, I get awesome service at this location, and other days, it does 30 minutes to get my order when the location itself is not busy. I’ve gotten a great meal and a garbage attitude a handful of times, but it depends on when you go and who’s working. Restaurant is somewhat clean. Overall, good food.

This is the best Captain D’s I have ever been to. Most are gross and don’t care. This location is amazing!
Edit: The first time I went, it was amazing. I gave a 5-star review. The last 2 times have been awful. Slow, rude, holding a conversion with someone else and forgetting to tell me which drink is what (between Pepsi and Dr. Pepper). Last time, the fish was tiny, and they gave me original instead of spicy. This time, the chicken was tiny (almost like nuggets instead of tenders), and the fish was normal size.. kinda. Apparently, they give long skinny pieces instead of filets now. Barely any fries…. the food tasted good, but it just wasn’t quite right. Maybe I just had the best crew possible the first day, and those people left. I’m sad.

By far the WORST Captain D’s in existence. Twice in a row now, they managed to forget half of my order. What I did get was either overcooked and burnt, or still raw. My chicken looked like it had a BITE TAKEN OUT OF IT. Once, I can forgive because bad nights happen. Multiple times? Time to give it up and close the place. Such a disgrace.

The food was great, but, the service left something to be desired. We waited at least 10 minutes while our order sat on the window from the kitchen while the young lady working the front counter was busy chatting and joking with customers that came in after us. Finally someone from the kitchen came out front to give us our food.
