I came here for my birthday and everything was perfect. The meal started with chips that had beans drizzled over them, plus red and green salsas. The red had great heat and flavor, while the green was milder with wonderful taste.
I ordered the chile relleno plate with a side of chopped carne asada. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The chile relleno was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of cheese. I chose the mole sauce, and let me tell you—the mole was incredible. I couldn’t get enough of it, and it paired perfectly with every bite.
My family also loved their meals. My wife especially raved about her chicken mole.
We will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

This place is incredible yeah not kidding really good food. Service was great speedy and attentive. Got 3 different Tacos birra, carne asada and al pastor ( marinated pork ). The birra taco wasn’t accompanied with consome but whatever it was still good 3rd place, carne asada was delicious 2nd place but al pastor was the best taco very tender 1st. That being said I also had a grilled chicken tostada with generous portion of beans sour cream, cheese and lettuce that blew the tacos away and was my favorite. No one at the table was disappointed in their meals. Definitely coming back.

Incredible food, quality, attention to detail and care about the ingredients. Super authentic Oaxacan cuisine. The owner was telling us how they import the tlayudas, queso, and seasonings from Mexico. Everything is made from scratch and fresh. The black beans are almost like a sauce, they are so flavorful even from just a light spread. Everything we tried was just amazing, including the salsas. I can see why they stay busy, any wait for a table or the food is worth it. Really nice employees, too.

First time my husband and I tried this place. We were craving menudo this morning. The broth was flavorful, NO HOMINY, the sides were wilted and old, the tortillas were stale, and for the first time, I found a tumor in my soup. Uuuggghhh!!! Sorry Carmen, maybe check it he meat first.

I walked in at a slow time in the afternoon and was treated like family. I had a great burrito that came out hot, fresh, and crispy, tasting like homemade. Very reasonable prices, great food, clean restaurant, lovely staff.

Great food, fast friendly service. Mole is one of the best I’ve had, been in south cali since 2003 so that’s saying a lot.

We just moved to Temecula and have been looking for authentic Mexican food. My girlfriend and I ordered the chile verde plate and a tlayuda. The food tasted pretty good. My only feedback is for the tlayuda, it lacks some meat, but very tasty. The chile verde was good, but no spiciness to the chile, and I would’ve liked some more meat considering the prices here.

We went to eat there as a family last week. We decided to share a Molcajete and my partner decided to get a burrito which was $25 for just the burrito because they charge extra for adding rice, cream and taking away beans. I’ve never seen a restaurant that charges to deduct food from an entry. The Molcajete which was $40 had only enough food for one person and the type of cut of meat was so paper thin it was ridiculous for the price not to mention the bowl of sauce that was in the center of the Molcajete was gross and took up majority of the space of the Molcajete. They charged for a to-go box as well which was absurd. Lastly the server was making so many mistakes and triple charged us for three coffees. We sent back out food twice to get it fixed because he continued to make mistakes. Honestly overall that was the worst experience between food and service. Extremely way too expensive.

My first experience at Cocina Del Carmen was picking up an order for someone. After hearing the passion the owner had while there regarding the cleanliness and pride in their food, I decided to come back and enjoy a meal within the week. I am happy to say it was a great experience. My gf was amazed at the amount of dishes that were available with vegetable options rather than 1 or 2 like many other places. She ordered the potato taquitos, while I ordered a childhood favorite, chicken mole. We were both impressed with the quality of the food. In addition the restaurant is quaint, clean, and has a very pleasant staff. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for the best in Mexican cuisine in Vista.
