The Works is a solid coffee and deli shop that makes for a perfect stop if you’re driving through Brattleboro on your way to New Hampshire. The town itself is cute and definitely worth a quick leg stretch to walk around.
We stopped in as we walked by, and the experience was great:
• Food: The lunch food was good, and the pastries and cookies were excellent.
• Amenities: This is a very comfortable place to take a break—they offer free WiFi, a clean bathroom, and plenty of seating.
Overall, it’s a reliable, clean, and comfortable spot for a lunch break or coffee. I recommend it!

Very cute spot! Right in the center of town.

LOVED the Mac’n’Cheese! The small was the perfect size because it was actually quiet large!

And the turkey bacon avocado on sourdough was DELICIOUS!

Perfect place for lunch!

We have mixed feelings on this place. Several things were great like the size of the cafe and the menu options. However, we had a service issue. When waiting for food and drinks, our names were called when the food was ready but not the drinks. Myself and 2 other customers stood there for over 10 minutes waiting for drinks. Numerous drinks were placed on the counter but they weren’t marked nor did the person putting them there say anything. We can’t just grab random drinks and hope for the best! I frequent cafés and that was a first. Also, the bacon on my sandwich wasnt fully cooked. I had to pull out rubbery pieces of fat. The bacon also wasn’t drained so all grease made my bagel kind of soggy. I did like the information on the wall about how earth friendly they are. All in all, we would probably try it again and hopefully have a better experience.

The Works Café is a cute and busy spot. The smoothies were good, but the service was unfriendly. I’ve never seen any of the employees smile or even greet customers. The sandwiches we got were cold and lacked flavor, and the tables were dirty. The coffee was just okay too. Overall, it’s an alright option if you’re in the area, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

Went in on the weekend and they were hopping. Even though they were busy, they took our order quickly and we got our food fast. The wait staff didn’t rush us and we’re really patient and kind while we figured out what we wanted to eat.

The breakfast bagel sandwiches were really tasty. That mean they came out hot and fresh very quickly. Good portions for the price. Good Cafe vibes!

Just passing through Brattleboro and having breakfast and coffee here. Impressive. I’m a whole food plant based guy and they have great vegan options. Staff—friendly, attentive. As I sit here and observe, they seem to know many if not most of the people who come here. They treat everyone with respect. The coffee—GREAT. Lots of options. The wifi—GREAT. The food—GREAT. I can see that if I lived here, I’m come often.

Honestly I thought it was going to be a good place to eat , besides being a chain.
But sadly it wasn’t.
We order 2 field fritter wraps .
The one I got had the most hard fritters ever. And my bf was a really nice fried soft in the inside pea fritter.
So went i went to talk to a person I’m charge and told him the fritter inside was to hard he said they all like that. Which I told him the other wrap had perfect fritters.
They offer to give me a portion of fritters but he assured me they were gonna come exactly as the ones in my wrap. Which I refused to get .
I cannot be tricked and said those are how they come out. Since I worked in kitchens my whole life. And those fritters looked and tasted like they had been cooked for a while and then re fried. I’m no newby.
So refrain of ordering those field fritter.

Such a bad meal.

This is my go to eatery when I’m in town. Popular in the area as I can tell, very cozy interior and good for hanging out with friends. Good variety menus and they emphasize on local supplies. The Pesto Chicken Quinoa was tasty, fresh ingredients and good coffee. Highly recommend.

I stopped by Good Works Coffee House while visiting from Massachusetts, and while the coffee itself was excellent, the overall experience was a bit mixed.

The first thing that really threw me off was the bathroom setup. You need a door code to enter, which is fine in theory, but even though I locked it from the inside, someone else with the same code still walked in while I was using it. That was really uncomfortable and not okay, and it took away from the experience.

Service at the counter felt a bit tired, like they might’ve been at the end of a long shift. That said, there were a few other staff members working who were so kind and genuinely pleasant to talk to — their friendliness made a real difference and balanced out the experience.

The dark roast coffee was rich, smooth, and flavorful, and I appreciated the self-serve setup for refills, which makes it easy to stay and enjoy a cup at your own pace. The Wi-Fi is strong and reliable, perfect for catching up on work or studying. The café itself has a rustic, cozy atmosphere with warm wooden interiors and the inviting smell of fresh coffee and baked goods.

Overall, great coffee, friendly people, and a relaxing vibe, but the bathroom setup could use some attention. With a few small improvements, this could easily be a five-star spot.
