Social Profile:

Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Night Shift
I was hungry as I was driving by in the early hours this morning. I had onion rings on my mind. Since Whataburger batter dips their onion rings rather than breading, they are juicier. Then I saw the boneless wings on the menu board. I got sweet and spicy they were really good.

Everything was really tasty and the guy at the window was very nice. Thank you guys.

Whataburger Review — Order Mishandled, Accountability Nonexistent

I placed an order through the Whataburger app, received a confirmation and receipt, and waited for food that never arrived. When I contacted the store, I was told—incorrectly—that I had ordered through Grubhub and that there was “nothing they could do.” I reiterated that the order was placed directly through their own app and that I had documentation to prove it. The manager’s response was indifference, followed by hanging up the phone.

This experience perfectly illustrates why certain operational stereotypes persist in fast food. When systems fail, there is no ownership. When customers provide proof, it is ignored. When leadership is needed, it is absent.

The issue is not a missed order; mistakes happen. The issue is a complete lack of problem-solving, accountability, and basic customer service. If an organization cannot empower its staff to resolve a straightforward order discrepancy—even when evidence is provided—it signals a deeper failure in training, management, and standards.

Moments like this are why the fast-food industry struggles to command higher wages or greater respect. Compensation is tied to value creation, reliability, and service quality. When those fundamentals collapse, so does the argument for increased pay or professional recognition.

I did not receive my order. I did not receive assistance. I did not receive respect as a customer. What I did receive was a clear demonstration of why operational discipline matters—and why its absence erodes trust in a brand.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I waited over 30 minutes at curbside just for my food to have been ready the whole time. By the time I walked in after waiting forever, my food was ice cold and my milkshake was completely melted and all over my food just for them to not even apologize or offer to remake it. And no it was not busy. They were slow like they always are. Can you guys please teach your employees that curbside implies that idk maybe they bring it to my car when I arrive???? Thanks…

I have ordered here about 10 times for my family. 9 times almost the whole order has been wrong. The employees don’t care, don’t say sorry let fix this or anything. I’ve also seen employees yelling at their manager in front of everyone. I understand if it was once in a while or even if one person was apologetic but they don’t care at this location. I would give negative 1 ⭐️ if I could.

After believing that fast food burger places were going downhill, Whataburger completely changed my mind. Customer service is excellent. The food is actually served as advertised with fresh toppings. Keep it up. You guys raised the bar!

Ate here today and the food was ok but I wanted to say that I had better service than I have had in a long long time. A huge thank you to James. Keep up the great attitude and work.

Okay, at the order menu I asked for cream, sugar and ketchup.
Get my order and not only is none of that in the bag, but no butter for the pancakes and only one utensil set for two meals.

Girl closed the window too fast so I go around and park and go in.
No one came to the counter to ask me if I needed anything. Had to wait behind two people in line for some ketchup.

Erica at the front register was the only good experience of the visit, she apologized and I was omw.

Great burger for the price. Much bigger than I expected. Just one issue is that it’s not real clear where to pick up mobile orders. But the food is good.

I ordered biscuits amd gravey meal. The biscuits and gravey was good and hot, the hasbrowns were luke warm.
Took awhile to get me food, I would of expected everything to be hot.

Employees were joking around and being loud.

Dinning area was quiet but could hear everything the employees were talking about.

We had never tried Whataburger before and are glad we got to go while visiting Arizona! The staff was helpful since we didn’t know what we wanted, and the service was fairly quick.

Patty Melt: This was the #1 recommended item from my friends and we can say that it is a good burger! The Texas toast was buttery and soft. The grilled onions were soft too and added a lot of flavor. The creamy pepper sauce added a lot as well. Highly recommend this burger.

Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich: This sandwich sounded really fun when we saw it on their All Time Favorites menu. It comes on Texas toast with three chicken strips and honey BBQ sauce. It was good!

French fries: They were your average fries. Good to dip in any of the sauces you get.

Onion rings: We were recommended the onion rings. The waitress even recommended dipping them in the Spicy Ketchup. The combo was pretty good! The outside was crispy while the onion was soft.

Strawberry Malt: This was pretty good! Glad we only got a small because it was a bit filling. The strawberry was delicious.
