The scallops were the best we’ve ever had. They were cooked perfectly.
The fish had great flavor and was cooked really well. The risotto didn’t have any salt but was amazing once added. Unfortunately the steak was more medium than medium rare but my husband liked the flavor. The potatoes were phenomenal.
We also got the crème brûlée and it was perfect. It was the best we’ve had. The sugar wasn’t bitter and it was so creamy and custardy.

Beautiful place on the river. The place was clean but you can tell it was old from the beautiful bricks on the walls and floors. The She-Crab Soup was more reddish than I have had in the past but did have a lot of crab and not hot or anintense of a crab flavor but still worth the $7 cup. The crab cake was a big fat grilled single cake but it was full of crabmeat at and delicious. Would absolutely get agai. The Grouper Oscar was grilled perfectly, not overcooked. The pot a toes and Veggies were cooked perfectly too. The ‘crabmeat’ topper was more of a mush or foam topping but it did have a crabish flavor too. It was delicious. Ambiance is more of a white table cloth upscale dining experience. We had a bloody Mary at the rooftop bar upstairs while we waited for our table.

We didn’t have any food … but did swing into the bar to get some drinks. Service at the bar was excellent and friendly and the bartender made excellent drinks all around for each of us. The prices for the drinks were fair and the quality of choice for the various spirits was quite good. Couldn’t find a single complaint about the service or the environment. Looks like it would be a nice place to enjoy a quite lunch or dinner, but if you just want a drink definitely to swing in and sit down for a few, just don’t forget your ID 🙂

If I could give 100 stars I would! Everything was incredible. We had the crab cake appetizer. for main dishes we had the shrimp n grits, bourbon pecan salmon with mashed sweet potatoes. Both were soooooo delicious but what truly stole the show was the peach cobbler! Definitely a shareable dish! It was huge and the best cobbler I have ever had. It melts in your mouth with warm buttery flavor. Just sweet enough without being super sweet and not syrupy. Everything was truly perfect including the service she gave honest feedback about the menu and was attentive and knowledgeable.

The place was great. Obviously there’s a wait to be seated due to how crowded the place is, but the manager did his best and got to send within 10 minutes.
Our waitress, Sydney was great and took her time to explain everything.
The food overall was a 10 out of 10. Portions are great, the chicken sandwich was on point, the calamari and the dips were great.

Savannah is our pit stop between Florida and Greenville, SC. 6 times in last 8 months we have gone through there, the first time we happened upon River House Seafood. Second time, we had definite plans and beelined straight there. During the great Ice/Snowstorm of 2026 I might add. We would not be deterred.
Its old original brick ambiance charmed us, service staff were TOP NOTCH and know their food.
Both times, we chose the Seafood Pasta and weren’t disappointed. Plentiful bowl of fettucine, with a white sauce with wine and delicate seasoning. Stars of the show… large, perfectly cooked shrimp and sea scallops. I did have my eye on the Shrimp and Grits and Blackened Flounder entrees…. but that Pasta won. Second time in, we added an appetizer of Local Blue Crab Dip, a glass of wine and a Peach Margarita. The Crab Dip with fresh fried flour tortillas was an empty bowl within a few minutes. We would have licked it clean too, except our southern genteelness and my Grandma rolling in her grave stopped us. It was all to die for. AND we were quite prepared for this as our last meal knowing we had to navigate the snow and ice to get back to our hotel. But we would die happy with tummies full and satisfied.

We loved this casual restaurant on the riverfront! Collin was a great, attentive waiter and the food was delicious! Service was pretty fast too. We were seated immediately also. I had fried shrimp, coleslaw, hush puppies & substituted fries for mashed potatoes – they were all delicious! My husband had Liw Country Boil which was corn, peel & eat shrimp, & sausage. He loved it!

We had the best server, Leslie. She took great care of us, gave us great recommendations on what we liked to eat. The shrimp and scallop pasta, fried catfish and fried green tomatoes were all great. Best peach cobbler on the planet!

I may be a bit biased here because my parents had their wedding rehearsal dinner at this restaurant in 1993. We had a great time celebrating dinner for my grandmother‘s birthday. The service was fantastic. We were accommodated while waiting for one late member of our party we were served drinks and allowed to sit inside while we waited for a table. The seafood was good, but the location was great, right on River Street. The parking is hard to find so I recommend arriving early. The restaurant had a wonderful ambience with exposed historic brick and nostalgic coastal art. They also had live music that provided a positive addition to the ambience without being too overpowering. Overall, we had a great time and I would most certainly return!

We love River House! Great location on the ground (river) level at Cotton Sail Hotel and the food is excellent! GET THE PEACH COBBLER! It is outstanding! We also loved the Blackened Flounder dish, which had a crab topping and orzo base, and the Blackened Mahi. The Crab Cakes were very good and the Shrimp and Grits were good but not typical as I expect S&G, but it was good. The interior atmosphere is very nice but we prefer the outdoor river view seating. Also, they make an excellent Old Fashioned.
