February 2025:
Ordered a chicken teriyaki over rice to bring on the plane. The chicken seems like it was char grilled. Rice is a short grain rice that is sticky. Pretty tasty .

Vegetables are the mixed vegetables you get from a frozen bag. Could use an upgrade. Teriyaki sauce is poured over everything.

Service was friendly and food came out fast. Overall, happy with this dish. Better than other airport options.

The Teriyaki Chicken good, and accompanying rice is better quality than expected… and the Miso is very good, but the price is very high and it’s still airport food. The seating is food court style open seating.

For airport food, it exceeded expectations. The atmosphere in the airport is thick with stress, so you are already predisposed for a bad experience, but the curry was excellent. The hearty chunks of soft carrot and potato were comforting as were the American-sized hunks of tasty chicken. The chicken seemed cut by hand and there were little bits of skin, fat and cartilage attached which I loved, but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The curry sauce was stimulatingly spiced and it was warm and soothing to my perturbed soul. Bonus: if you arrive at the exact, right moment, you can get a freshly made box of sushi, before the rice gets hard and cold from the fridge! No wasabi hidden under the fish in the sushi. This was appreciated by my teen. Why don’t they use mayo or cucumber in the Californian California rolls? Regional variations I suppose. Price seemed fair. Only $15.50 for the generous bowl of curry. 20ish for the sushi. This portion was shared between three people.

The food is awful. Frozen veg and plain chicken on rice with a 1/4 cup of bottled teriyaki sauce dumped on it. The sushi was mushy and clearly not fresh enough to be any good.

The teriyaki bowl is it’s pretty hefty and at $14 not unreasonable price (for airports even). Would be nice if served in some kind of to-go package as it’s that big you’d probably want to eat half in one sitting. Even more cost effective if you split it with someone. Very tasty and fresh too. Service was surprisingly fast. The utensils are…. odd… these flat wooden things. They work okay but are more obnoxious. Overall solid dining choice and I recommend

Fine enough food and no problems with the service, but the combination of airports being too expensive and San Francisco being to expensive means you’ll be paying nearly 30 dollars for 8 dollars worth of sushi. I’d avoid eating anywhere in the airport. In fact, I’d avoid San Francisco. Bring snacks with you when you fly so you can avoid eating in airports during layovers.

Very nice portion bento box with a lot of Teriyaki chicken and some salmon. Pretty tasty and satisfying for airport food.

I had to come back after it left such a good impression on me the first time.

The soup for the beef udon was freaking delicious like I remembered it. It is so satisfying and does not disappoint. The beef was good but I wish it had more flavor.

The beef curry is still as good as I remember it. I’m not sured what happened but there was a random piece of chicken in it

The udon noodle with shrimp tempura was freaking delicious. The udon noodle came out pipping hot but it was so good, I couldn’t stop eating even though I was sweating like crazy and burnt my tongue every time I took a sip of the soup. The shrimp tempura was oily and was more of a side dish.

The beef curry rice was also freaking delicious even when it was cold. The curry was full of flavor and the giant pieces of carrot and potato were nice. I wish I could have tried it when it was hot but I was too full after eating the udon noodles.

Wakaba would be a good spot to grab some sushi in terminal D except that there really isn’t any place to sit. For premade sushi, it’s reasonably good although at an airport premium price. They do have a large selection of sake, and it was not crowded.

Better than expected. The tofu udon comes with a lot of wakame. It’s a little salty.
