I visited this restaurant in Annangol on February 22 and placed two separate orders one for dine-in and one to-go (Kimchi Jjigae). The to-go soup was for my child.
When we opened the soup at home, we discovered a cockroach inside the food. This is completely unacceptable and a serious health and safety violation. Finding a cockroach in a meal especially one intended for a child is shocking, disgusting, and deeply concerning. This incident clearly reflects extremely poor hygiene and food safety standards. No customer should ever experience something like this. I am very disturbed by what happened and will be reporting this matter to the health department.I strongly warn others to be cautious. Please carefully inspect your food before eating if you choose to visit this establishment.

When a restaurant posts an apology notice at the entrance, promising to improve, you expect it to mean something—and in this case, it did. Their marinated char-grilled pork and spicy pork dishes were excellent, and the soybean paste soup stood out as exceptional, with a flavor that suggested homemade fermented soybean, rich and intense. The side dishes were good, though not extraordinary. Service was attentive and pleasant. Overall, nicely done.

I had one order of grilled spicy pork and regular grilled pork each. It was one of the best Korean grilled pork dishes in DMV. It’s even comparable to restaurants in Korea where people line up! Pork is soft and perfectly seasoned.

A must try, huge portion for each order. The side dishes were not salty and awesome too. Most importantly, the servers were super nice and courteous. Will be back many times!

I came to Annakgol and truly enjoyed everything I ate —
the grilled mackerel, the rustic-style pork ribs, and the marinated galbi.
I also loved the dogani soup, the tofu and pork stew, and of course the spicy cold noodles.
These dishes keep coming back to my mind, and every time I eat here, my stomach feels warm and refreshed.

Life and work can be stressful, and for me, the best way to unwind is a good meal.
Annakgol is the kind of place where you can enjoy comforting Korean home-style meals, hearty soups and stews, and flavorful barbecue all in one spot.

What makes this place even more special is the atmosphere —
soft Korean music that our parents’ generation loves plays in the background, creating a cozy, nostalgic, and welcoming vibe.
It truly feels like stepping back into old Korean times.

If you’re looking for a comforting, authentic Korean restaurant in Annandale,
this is a place worth sharing and visiting together.

The best Galbi in town!
Loved their Mot-nan Pork rib, but now my new favorite is their Korean traditional beef-Galbi ! (Marinated Galbi, not LA Galbi)

No fat in the beef Galbi! & I love it!
So tender, soft, and tasty!
The new management really improved the taste~

The service was excellent, staff was friendly and attentive. Food was “okay.” For AYCE, it isn’t a bad option but the Korean side dishes (banchans) are going to disappoint. But as of September 2024, best Korean BBQ option in Annandale, IMO.

The soybean paste stew (doenjang-jjigae) didn’t have any flavor, korean steamed egg (gyeran jjim) was nearly inedible (too salty), and corn cheese had a very odd texture. The kimchi and other few sides aren’t anything to write home about.

Have been here multiple times with always good quality Korean food and good meats. The atmosphere is nice and not too loud so one can converse with friends. Staff is friendly as can be for usual Korean restaurants. Service and food comes out quick if you are in a hurry but you never feel rushed if you want to hang out with friends.

One of the best Authentic Korean Food in DMV area! I have been coming here for years. Stir fried spicy Squid, gamjatang, pollack spicy soup and their various banchans are my all the time favorites.

We usually go there for galbi, spicy pan-fried squid, and Soju for dinner. But today, we stopped by for lunch and had fish and kimchi soup—it was amazing! Definitely the best authentic Korean restaurant in the DMV area.

I am deeply saddened by this as this Korean restaurant offered great food. However, this time the staff has changed the service was horrible plus we order the most expensive Galbi it was 48.99 a serving and the meat was horrible it was hard and overcooked. When we complained nothing was done. I will not go here again after close to 10 years of going there almost every week. If you are not Korean the meat and service is different!
