We came two consecutive nights because we fell in love with the Tuna handrolls, you can choose between 2 options of preparations, both are great.
On our First night, Fer highly recommended us the Sakayama which is a Sake/Beer maded by the local Baja Brewing, she was not wrong, was the perfect way to start our experience here.
I could definitely go for hours typing about all the food that we had and still, I don’t think it will compare to how we felt once the dinner was over.
Thank you so much to Juan that also was super attentive to the service and supportive with the recommendations.
This has become so far one of our favorite spots in here and we hope to be back soon
Let’s talk about the food. The gyoza were really good! Very unique filling and lots of topping. The cucumber salad was simple, but well done.
Amongst the hand rolls, our family of four debated which we liked best, we all had different thoughts. I loved the shimeji with hazelnut cream, my son liked the soft shelled crab, my wife liked the creamy scallop (although she felt it needed more filling), and my daughter liked the tuna.
Finally, at the end we topped off with their black sesame, vegan ice cream, with brunois of strawberries. It was amazing!
It’s a thoughtfully run restaurant by good people. You should go! I recommend stopping by for a tasting, perhaps with some sake. But don’t plan for it to be your full meal.
If you’re looking for a great spot with a cool, relaxed vibe, put this on your list. The place is beautiful, but the service is what really made the night special—staff so friendly and helpful! I’m no sushi expert but staff found a way to help me pick the best pairings.
And OMG, you HAVE to get the crab hand roll. I’m not exaggerating when I say it might be the best thing I’ve eaten all trip. So fresh, so crispy, so perfect.
10/10 experience. Can’t wait to go back! #Sabaku #SanJoseDelCabo #CaboEats #CrabHandRoll #SushiLovers
Creativity, atmosphere, a chill down to earth vibe–and the food , simply put, is sensational!
We have now been three times in 3 weeks and each time trying something new from the menu.
Chef Andrés is clearly passionate about Japanese food. The small menu reflects that passion and everything is made to perfection. Simple but beautiful presentations, with no pretension.
Manager Juan is a pleasure to chat with, and he clearly loves what he is doing.
All of the staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly.
Each time we have been we have been seated at the bar area which looks directly into the kitchen where the magic happens.
Friendly chats with Chef Andrés about what is being prepared and served, local places he likes to eat, how Sabaku came to be, and watching all the activity in the kitchen is just the right touch.
There are plenty of great places to eat in San Jose, and this one rises to the top of our list of favorite places.
