Love to visit this Japanese small plates restaurant whenever we’re in Bristol. Great selection of vegan/ veggie options and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The highlight of the menu is that much is locally sourced and high quality, as well as being full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and attentive. We also like the casual dining atmosphere and the outdoor seating and heating. Great food without it being stuffy or too formal. And the cocktails & kimchi fries….

It is a Japanese restaurant with more of a tapas style concept, which makes it a nice place to go if you want to share a variety of dishes.

The atmosphere is very cosy and intimate. It feels warm and relaxed, and it’s a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a meal, especially if you’re nearby and looking for something different.

The food was good overall and nicely presented. We enjoyed what we ordered, but it wasn’t the most amazing Japanese food we’ve ever had. Everything was solid, just not particularly memorable compared to other Japanese restaurants we’ve tried.

In terms of pricing, it did feel slightly on the expensive side for what you get, especially since the dishes are small and you need to order several to feel satisfied. That said, the quality was decent and we did have a nice evening.

Overall, it’s a good option if you’re in the area and want a cosy place to share Japanese small plates. For us personally, it wasn’t somewhere we’d rush back to, but it’s still a pleasant spot with good food.

I visited the Japanese restaurant Seven Lucky Gods and was quite satisfied with the taste of the dishes. The fried potatoes were especially delicious – simply amazing. However, there are a few drawbacks. First of all, the menu doesn’t indicate the portion sizes, which makes ordering a bit difficult, especially when you’re with a group. Additionally, the portion size of some dishes doesn’t match the price. For example, for £7, we received a very small piece of fish, which was a bit surprising. It would be great if the restaurant could address these issues.
Also, keep in mind that the service charge is included in the bill. Otherwise, everything else was great – nice atmosphere and tasty food.

The food itself was decent, but unfortunately the overall experience didn’t match the prices. The portion sizes felt quite small for what we paid, which made it hard to feel it was good value for money. The dishes also arrived in a random order, which made the meal feel a bit disorganised and less enjoyable.
Another downside was the toilet situation — there is only a public restroom outside of the restaurant. This definitely affected our comfort during the visit .
Overall, it could be much better considering the cost.

Craving great tasting Japanese Bar food and a delicious small plate experience? Seven Lucky Gods serves it up best. Every dish was packed with exquisite Japanese flavours. The Sichuan Fried Cauliflower small plate was delicious, and the service service was very good too. Accessibility Rating ♿️ as there is a flight of stairs to access the restaurant.

Popped here for lunch. The staff was friendly, sat us down and said it’s usually about 5 plates for 2 people. So we just ordered 6 plates between the two of us.
The plates started coming fairly quickly. I enjoyed every single one of them, especially the Korean Fried Chicken was superbly good.
The prices are generally what I expect from a tapas place, on average we spent about £10 per plate, but we were definitely both full at the end of it.
Definitely will be popping here again!

A great dining experience and impeccable service. The staff are incredibly attentive, the spicy tuna roll and salmon sushi are fresh and expertly prepared, as are the curried chips, katsu arancini and the seaweed salad. A must-visit spot for great food and genuinely warm hospitality.

Went for a birthday meal with some family last night, I was seriously impressed with seven lucky gods. The food for a start was incredible, as a ‘tapas’ style restaurants it comes out as it’s ready which seemed to be quite quickly. This meant we started off with some and quite happily ordered more with the safe knowledge that it’d come while we were still eating. The staff were excellent, very kind and knew the menu well. Was offered a birthday drink, can’t complain. Plenty of seating, some indoor and some out so book ahead if you want to sit inside. Highly recommend to anyone.

Had a lovely evening here. The service was brilliant (thank you Joe!) and the food was delicious. Great range of tasty vegan options and not a meat sub in sight! Inspiring me to be a better cook The drinks also looked amazing, will be getting someone else to drive next time!
