Stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed it. We sat at the counter. I had pancakes w/sausage & wife had an omelet. Both were good. Coffee was ok. Staff was great. Only negative was cost. Two breakfasts with tip was $38. Same breakfasts at other diners in the area would be closer to $25.

Stopped by here recently for breakfast. Upon entering we seated ourselves. Waitress came over gave us menus and asked for our drink selection. As other reviews have mentioned there was no personality, but we were there for food not conversation. We ordered our food. I got the garbage plate and my wife got 2 eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrowns. Food came out quickly and tasted as good. I was surprised at the size of my platter but for the price it was fitting. It is more expensive than your standard diner, but taste was worth it.

First time visit. Ordered egg and bacon sandwich with hash brown’s .when the order came (NO hash brown’s. Was almost done eating before the hash brown’s were cooked and then no waitresses brought them (to busy talking). So I ask the cook to bring them .the young waitress didn’t seem to be into her work. It was not busy at all and another customer complained about missing item from her order. The cooks were doing a good job. We sat at the counter it’s a a good view of the cooking action. After reading other reports about poor waitress service I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought the wait staff sucked or were entitled to big tips for poor service. Very surprised they can stay in business at this rate.

Food was great, dining area clean. In alignment with other reviews – waitress was a zombie. No personality, zero service beyond asking what you want to drink and how you want your eggs cooked. No refills. Worth stopping in for a bite if you’re hungry, but don’t expect anything more than that.

Food is decent But the waitress looked like she hadn’t seen a shower in quite some time. Very unprofessional attire even for a greasy spoon.. Could be a great place but waitstaff sucks. No refill on coffee. Forgot my toast, almost finished eating before it arrived. Back to John Boys for my breakfast

Today is Thanksgiving. My husband and I are not celebrating with our families until tomorrow. So we decided to go to coffee house. We have been here quite a few times and never paid more than $25 for our food alone. We got our food to go. My husband was the one to go inside and pick it up. He looked upset when he came outside. When I asked him what was wrong he replied the total was over $40. I looked at the receipt and seen the total was $40.16. I took the food back inside and apologized and told them we had never paid that there before for two meals. I asked if I could have a refund. We didn’t even touch the food. The waitress and cook told me refunds were not allowed which is not posted anywhere in the restaurant. We went back and forth for a few moments and they don’t me there was nothing they could do. My husband went back in and asked for the number to corporate and we haven’t heard anything back from them.

Stopped for breakfast Elkin NC, ordered steak breakfast with 2eggs,biscuit and gravy, bread felt old, steak was without taste, my husband ordered his eggs scrambled, came over easy, ordered orange juice with meal, did not get, waitress had no personality and did not come back to check on us or if everything was OK. Will not go back, food was not good.

Ok Coffe house I must say 100% better than before it closed. It was oh so clean and the workers were friendly. Although a felt a litle funky vibe from a few of the customers when I walked in yep but that’s beside the point I was hungry which made them a non factor. Not only was it fast service the food was delicious. So Ladies you get a big thumbs up. Thank you for a great breakfast.
