We stopped in the pizzeria for a weekend lunch. We ordered the pepperoni pie that has Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, mozz, pepperoni, pecorino-romano, and Sicilian oregano. We added mushrooms. The dough was flavorful and chewy in the best way. The pepperoni was equally flavorful but overpowered the mushrooms. Great pizza overall.
The Pizzeria also offers menu items to share, an italian hero, salads, and desserts that include soft serve. That day we tried their vanilla, pumpkin spice soft serve (not sure if its a regular menu item). So good and a perfect palate cleanser. Beverages include soda, beer, wine by the glass.
The space itself is not huge, maybe 15 seats but fine for a quick bite. Nice addition to Nashville. Look forward to the next visit! Also can’t wait to visit Frankies 925 next door.
The portions are great. Big slices!! And very kind staff. Made the pie quickly and greeted us with a smile.
We ordered a full pie but it was way too much for the two of us, more than enough to take home for later
The inside is a bit small and the parking can be difficult as theres not many spaces. Several spaces are shared with other stores and an apartment complex but there’s lots of outdoor seating and several seats inside.
All in all 10/10 pizza, would definitely recommend
They didn’t have gluten-free crust, so I ordered a Caesar salad without croutons and paid $15 for it. The salad was so small and seemed very cheap. It was yummy, but I was so upset that I paid $15 for a tiny salad.
However, my gluten-eating husband and friend really enjoyed the pizza, which was reasonably priced at $4-$6 a slice!
I go to Frankie’s fairly regularly for slices, and especially enjoy the classic Sicilian slice, though I get board of the very small, basic menu sometimes. I love the Bodega and the attached Sputino restaurant, which is a very classy high end, high quality eatery. The pizzeria carries a comparable reputation which on most occasions I feel has been justified.
I’ve been looking for an opportunity to show my wife how good Frankie’s pizza is, but tonight the opposite happened. We walked over to Frankie’s after a long black Friday shift excited to pick up a cheese pizza, but what we got was honestly one of the worst pizzas we have ever had. It was overcooked to the point of being dried out. Patches of the cheese were burnt black, hard and bitter, much of the underneath was black and it was difficult to eat. It looked nothing like any slice I’ve had. To make it worse this pizza was $29 with tax, which is incredibly expensive for a cheese pizza. Possible the most I’ve ever paid.
The pizzeria was not busy. Ours was the only order they were preparing while they blasted loud music and sung songs together round the back. I’m happy to see employees have fun, but not at the expense of quality. For a place with such esteem, attached to such a high quality restaurant, I expect better. On this occasion I don’t think it’s harsh to say I would have enjoyed a frozen pizza from Kroger more. I will go back for the Sicilian slice, but I won’t risk wasting another $29 on a full pizza.
The pizza was really good flavor wise and I could see it having the potential to be great, however none of the slices we got were heated much beyond room temp. $15 little Caesar salad in a plastic to-go container wasn’t the best move either. When we go back, I’d opt for a whole pizza vs. by the slice and see if that’s a better experience. The flavors really were good all around, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality.
