My filet was perfect. The Brussel sprouts to share were great and my friend’s pork chop was tender and well cooked. Of course the shrimp Cocktail was excellent. Just a few very minor glitches that were quickly taken care of.
If you want fine dining at the Horseshoe… this is your spot.
Made reservations early, which was a good thing because they are now booked til end of june.
For an appetizer, I chose the lobster bisque. It was rich and creamy, leaving you wanting more.
I then ordered the 14oz ribeye with black truffle butter and foraged mushrooms. The steak was delicious. The cook was a spot on, medium. It was full of juice and had a nice crust. The black truffle butter added a rich flavor as well did the mushrooms. My wife ordered the chicken. Let me just say it was cooked to perfection. Flavor was on point. It was served with roasted carrots accompanied by Au jus sauce on a bed of fingerling potatoes.
The service was also top-notch. We never needed to ask for one thing. If there was a hiccup, it was when one dish for the table came out a few minutes late. The reason was the kitchen didn’t like the way the cook looked on the steak, so they ordered a re-fire. I will say it was slightly annoying. However, I’d rather have that issue rather than get a subpar steak. Especially paying that price. All in all, they just opened and are bound to have some ironing out to do. The food was good and the service was too. Would go back.
I had the ribeye 14 oz, scallops appetizer and German chocolate cake dessert. It seemed that the steaks at our table were cooked a little more than ordered so keep that in mind (one was sent back and corrected right away). Noise level was high and made it somewhat difficult for our table conversation– recommend requesting a table in the back area.
