Tortilla Republic Kauai is thrilled to announce some exciting changes, on April 20, 2018 our restaurant operations will be consolidated to our downstairs dining room, lanai and bar. Lunch and dinner will be served daily along with Saturday and Sunday brunch. Our new dinner menu is a blend of all of the favorite dishes from the menus of upstairs and downstairs, with minimal changes to lunch and brunch menus. We look forward to continue delivering our Modern Mexican comfort food and legendary service in our beachy chic atmosphere. Great location, but a little hard to find. The lady who sat us was great! We came on a Saturday night and it was a little busy. Bout a 10 minute wait, but well worth it! The atmosphere and music are very nice. The salsa was probably the best I’ve ever had. I got the steak tacos and they were outstanding, even the side of beans was delicious. Some of, if not the, best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Wow! Price is a bit high, but you won’t lose any sleep over it.

Great chips and salsa, beer is cold, they do not serve any tap beers here. The happy hour is very affordable and has a good selection of quick bites. We ordered the Mexican corn, it was leaving a bit to be desired. The service here was quick and they were very attentive, the burrito is huge and they have a great selection of tequilas. I will be back, hopefully they get a little more authentic with their corn rather than trendy.

I would give it worse but they at least tried to be nice. Fish was way over cooked. Ceviche was only OK and the server spilled all over us. Oh well. The salsa and guacamole were decent.

Dante made our experience the best. Even though he forgot about us in the beginning but made it up the rest of the night. The food was good the margaritas are the best on the island and I tried several at different places. And if you like tequila they have the best selection on the island.

My short rib burrito was to die for. However we also ordered another burrito and chose to get the sauces, with kind of took away from the flavor of the burrito itself. The service was fantastic although it did take a little while for our check to be collected

Tacos were excellent. Salsa had a great flavor with nice smokey tones. Habanero sauce was great, just enough heat to enjoy. Atmosphere is terrific!

Stopped for a drink and apps. Was not disappointed. Drinks were good. Service was great. We tried the chicken tacos, which were good, but a bit messy.

Very very good food. Although the power was going out due to storm, they managed to keep us fed. They actually ran out of food earlier in the day due to overwhelming circumstances (April 2018 floods) but the kitchen crew came through with excellent food. I’ll definitely go back next visit to Kauai. Happy hour drinks were great too. Nice staff. Very hard working.

Food was decent, but overpriced. For the record, we ate in the downstairs ‘casual’ level. Upon check-in, we were told it would be a wait, but then they seated us immediately, but warned us it could be a wait even as they seated us. Confused? We were too. Service was less than stellar. Drinks sat empty and we received two baskets of tiny fragments of what may have been tortilla chips in a previous life. (Another server came by and noticed, and fixed without asking). Biggest complaint, no ability to mix and match tacos.

Our favourite restaurant on Kauai. We expected the great service and food that we got (all at a reasonable price), but what we didn’t expect was how great the vibes would be. It’s a great place to go to in order to unwind after a beautiful day at the beach. We especially loved the salsa we got with the chips. Great food!
