My wife and I moved to Annapolis recently and have been trying out the local restaurants. We’re very impressed with Basmati. We started with cocktails, wine, and an appetizer (samosas) My wife had their chicken patia and I had the tandoori mixed grill. Both delicious and nicely sauced. The naan and papadam were great. I finished with a double espresso and kheer for dessert. Service was first class and the ambiance was perfect. On par with some of the best Indian in the DC area with a much lower price. We left feeling well cared for and full.

I am a regular patron of this restaurant. At least twice a wk. I get something to go on my way into work. Everything is normally a 10 outta 10. However this evening one of my dishes was shrimp normally and it tasted like pea soup. I tried to call to return it but they closed. Hopefully they’ll make it right because it was truly awful. Again, this is the exception not the rule. Im always pleased with my food and very pleasant “to go” service.

We did a big takeout this evening for 10 people. Excellent quality food and generous portions. Friendly staff. Most of the group chose medium spice – all agreed their dishes were too spicy hot. Recommend if you want medium go with mild, and ask for spice on the side!

I loved the details inside the restaurants. It is beautiful and the food is great. It was my first time here and I tried their buffet. Everything was great even the barbecue chicken but it was hard to eat it because of the bone. I was so full that I didn’t get a chance to try their dessert. On a different note, I would say it was lovely to see the servers assist an older disabled couple at the buffet. They are very sensible and kind.

My parents and I love coming to Basmati on occasion. We enjoy the authentic Indian cuisine. My parents before the curry while I prefer the saag (chicken and paneer). The bread is always fresh & I recommend the garlic. The inside is nicely decorated and quaint. The servers are polite and if it’s not too busy, the owner tries to visit each table when he’s there.

I visited for the first time with family and the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is nice. We arrived around 7:30 to 7:45 pm and had a little wait before someone came to take our order. Once the food arrived, we ate and all we all were in agreement the food was good however it was overcooked. This may have been due to our coming late so I am giving Basmati some leeway but hope during our second visit we won’t have the same experience. Beyond the overcooked food, I had no issue with this restaurant.

This was delicious, I cook Indian at home frequently, I am often dissapointed by Indian buffets in general. This was exquisite. Fresh Naan, amazing dishes. Everything was delectable. Anam was a delight, and took great care of our table. The best is real Masala Chai to end your meal. I highly recommend it.
