Their food is definitely 5 stars, always fresh and good flavor. I’ve been coming here ever since they opened and the food has always been on point.
I always order takeout, there has been times where they forget to put stuff in my bag but they’ve always made up for it, nobody’s perfect. The reason for the 3 stars is customer service over the phone 90% of the time sound a little rude so I would say in that field they need to improve a little. Other than that food is always on point nothing negative to say about that.
Overall chill spot to visit and enjoy some good Mexican food.
Little update, once again people answering the phones need to be trained a little better. I called in to place a phone order. Lady that answered the phone took my order and my name down and also specified if I knew I was calling the restaurant in Covina on grand, I said yes.
I get there about 10 mins after my phone ordered. I pay and lady at the register said phone order for *my name* to the cooks and the other waitress. Im standing there for another 10 or so minutes and go up to the counter and I ask the waitress if my phone order was ready.
She looked at me and had no idea what I was talking about, she asked for my name i have it to her, she asked if they were the right restaurant I had called I said yes. I told her I already even paid at the register for my food. She still had no idea what I was talking about. Finally she tells oh its right here they put the wrong name on the ticket!
I was like really wow! So my food was just sitting getting cold, so yes when I finally got my food it was cold. They didn’t bother in admitting it was there mistake and we will ake your food again i got nothing. Eating cold fish tacos not so tasty little nasty. The customer service here overall need way better training all around from management.
When the food is hot and fresh it’s good, when it’s old and cold not so good.

I recently visited El Picosito and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I ordered the steak fajitas and was shocked by how little meat was served — there were only about four very small pieces. For the price, the portion was extremely underwhelming.
The steak itself was very chewy and difficult to eat. The flavor was also off-putting and almost had a medicinal taste. I couldn’t finish it, and even my husband tried a piece and struggled to chew it.
I also ordered the mole, and the portion was tiny — about 3 ounces for $8. Overall, the quality and portion sizes did not match the price point or how the restaurant presents itself.
To make matters worse, the restaurant is cash only, and while they have an ATM on site for “convenience,” that was even more disappointing. It felt inconvenient rather than helpful, especially given the overall experience.
Sadly, the food was not worth what it’s portrayed to be worth. I hope the restaurant improves its portion sizes, food quality, and overall customer experience.

Really enjoying this local Mexican restaurant. Very friendly staff and the quality of the food is excellent. A nice variety of sauces / salsa’s, chili peppers, cucumbers, radishes too! The attached picture is of their Super burrito…A lot of burrito for $16

I’ve been looking for a good burrito in Covina for years, ever since Mannys El Loco closed. Well, I found a very delicious burrito here I will definitely be coming back. Good salsa. Asada was excellent. Good size burrito for $11 not over stuffed with rice.

Service was excellent everyone was friendly and checked on us. The food was good. I had a bean and cheese burrito wet with red enchilada sauce and my husband had steak picado. Both were tasty. They also have a salsa bar which had a few different salsa to try and the chips were fresh and crispy. We will be back to try other items.

I came here while doing some DMV work and was very impressed. The food and staff are great. There is plenty of seating that can accommodate groups as well as a patio area. The atmosphere is welcoming and adorned with handmade decorations. I will be returning very soon.

The tacos are pretty delicious but the intestine need to be more crispy. They have taco Tuesday deal. The restaurant is very neat and spacious, great for family gathering. I will definitely come back to try their other foods. My favorite were the stomach and Al pastor. The stomach one melts in your mouth. The al pastor was seasoned properly. The green sauce was just the right heat and flavor. The other condiments were also amazing. Overall it was a great place to ease your taco cravings. Thanks to the owner for opening the door for us <3

Very flavorful and well cooked meats in very nice portions. Modern and fun atmosphere with fun ethnic touches that make the interior stand out from the average taco spot. The salsas available are super flavorful and can pack the heat in. The only downside to an otherwise 5 star rating is the cash only policy and restrooms that could a good portion of the time and style put into the dining room. They are only 3 months old, so there is time for improvement.

This is a Cash only place. I stopped here from out of state. I ordered take out. I got the combo fajita plate… It was cooked really well, had some pieces of grilled shrimp, chicken and steak. Came with rice, beans, tortillas and like half of a mini side salad. Came out to over $20 with the tip I added. Their salsa area is closed, they provided one green and one red sauce. No utensils. It tasted really good but not amazing for me to crave this spot (my opinion). Will def try something else though next time I’m in town. The convenience ordering take out was easy. The cashier was really nice. I removed a star for not having any kind of debit/credit transactions because we don’t live in the Stone Age. Cash only. But, there is an ATM inside that only charges about $2. No pics of the menu online, had to hunt down utensils. Food was decent. I provided some pictures. Hopefully that can help the business.

The food is amazing and sweet customer service plus the aesthetics nice. We got an order for take out. Our order was the gordita and tacos De papa. Also De chile relleno Plate and two aguas frescas Piña an Jamaica. Everything was so good we surely recommend it.
