One of the more “casual” places at Sea Island– meaning that men don’t need a jacket, but pants and button down is still the average dress for men. Service always takes a while, and this place does take reservations (in the past, this place was walk-ins only), so keep that in mind. There is a kid friendly putting green right outside that is fun to play when waiting for your table. Also, there is a bagpiper that plays from 7pm to 8pm most evenings. Staff is incredibly nice and provides a five star treatment.

What a wonderful treat dining in The Lodge at Sea Island Oak Room was for my wife and I. We stopped in on a slow post-Thanksgiving weekday evening and were treated to a wonderful delicious dinner. Our server Cericka was excellent. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered two Prosecco’s. We enjoyed a delicious mini biscuits with bacon butter appetizer. My wife ordered a wonderful 6oz filet with Boursin whipped potatoes, roasted autumn veggies, and scallion steak sauce. I ordered the blackened Redfish with crab fried rice, green gumbo, and pickled Okra. Both entrees were served hot and were delicious. Bon Appetit

Information on Google stated the Oak Room was open with no mention of restrictions. We arrived and were told quite rudely by a man at the gate who said not only was the restaurant closed but that we had to be a member or were staying at the resort to be able to be served. He instructed us, again quite rudely, to circle the roundabout and leave the premises. VERY DISAPPOINTED

We were really looking forward to a nice dinner at this highly rated restaurant. Imagine our surprise when we drove up only to be told that the restaurant is solely for members of the resort. Would have been nice to know this beforehand. Nothing wrong with a members only venue, but it should be advertised as such.
