I discovered Asante’s around two years ago. THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL! The ladies who work there are so kind and generous. I can tell the food is made with a lot of love. I’m addicted to their jerk chicken wings. They are the best around. Today I had jollaf rice with gravy and vegetables. Lots of great flavors. I recommend this restaurant highly!

My family and I visit Asante every once in a while whenever we’re in New Jersey or nearby, and it never disappoints. The restaurant is always clean, welcoming, and consistently well-maintained. There’s a great variety of food options to choose from, so everyone can find something they enjoy. On top of that, the owner is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and truly amazing—he makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time. Asante is definitely a place you can rely on for good food, whether you’re meeting friends, spending time with family, or stopping in for a solo bite. Highly recommend!

I’m visiting from our of town and am blown away by how good this food is. The service was incredible. Trina you are a queen! Thank you! Everyone is so kind and the oxtail and the Ghanian Jollof was so delicious I was smiling the entire time I was eating it.

The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful in making a good selection. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean and had a nice vibe. My meal was fresh, tasty and the portion was PERFECT! The jollof, shito and grilled lamb is a 10/10!

Absolutely amazing. Went with my parents and the service was perfect. The jollof rice tasted extremely well made, along with the chicken and shito. The place is well decorated, with pieces of african styled art. The seats and floors were neatly cleaned up too, so that is an easy 5 stars. I would definitely come again.

Food was very flavorful and the women behind the counter were very helpful explaining all the dishes. Especially enjoyed the Egusi with Fufu. Make sure to try the natural soursop drink and the spinach side dish!!

I stumbled upon this gem. I’ve not come across such an African food experience in new jersey than the one I had at this place. The customer service was on par. The food was excellent. I would say it needed a little more spice, but there was such a variety and everything was delicious. Service was great. The inside of the establishment was clean and the presentation was lovely. I would definitely give them a 5 star. Like I said, just needed a little more spice.

Cheryl is a DELIGHT!!! She’s present and kindly suggested I taste test the soups before deciding which one I was going for. The Palm Nut soup with the fufu won for me!!! My new go-to for 2026. What a blessing!!! Shoutout to Ed and Arthur next door. And to the kitchen DJ, your tune selection is immaculate and like the food, deliciously nourishing.

DELICIOUS. I’d never had African food before, but I figured that while I was traveling I should stray from the normal business trip food. Asante’s came up and I was sold!

The jollof rice was beautifully spiced and perfectly cooked, and the goat was tender and packed with flavor. The plantain was incredible and the whole package together was incredible.

My only gripe? That I can’t come back more often. But the next time I’m in Teaneck, I will be coming back.

Nice and clean local Ghanaian restaurant with professional and friendly service. The server was extremely polite and patient. I was surprised by how many local options they had – almost everything I could think of. They offer both deliver and dine-in option for lunch and dinner. Easy to also shop for local ingredients from an African store right next door. Free parking available.
