If you’re craving a true homestyle Mexican breakfast, this place delivers that comforting, “just like home” feeling from the moment your plate hits the table. The vibe is cozy and familiar—like stepping into a kitchen where someone’s been cooking since sunrise, filling the air with the aroma of fresh tortillas, simmering chorizo, and warm café de olla.

But the real standout? The locally loved biscuits. These things are unbelievably good—soft, warm, and perfectly buttery, with that golden, flaky texture that melts the moment you take a bite. They pair beautifully with the savory dishes, adding the perfect touch of comfort to every plate.

Every bite feels like tradition and local flavor coming together, making this breakfast spot one of those places you can’t help but tell your friends about. It’s inviting, it’s delicious, and it’s the kind of meal that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished the last bite.

Good hole in the wall. I order three tacos thinking they where going to be small. Waitress said they are big and I said I should be okay. We’ll she was right and I ended up eating 2 and a half tacos.

Visited during the day for a quick takeout stop at La Reynera Bakery & Restaurant. I ordered three different breakfast biscuits: the Papa Chorizo ($2.84), Machacado ($4.79), and Barbacoa ($4.79).

The biscuits themselves were solid—fresh, well-baked, and flavorful. Unfortunately, the meat in all three sandwiches lacked seasoning and flavor, which was a letdown considering the potential of each item.

Service was a bit slow, but to be fair, the place was very busy, and that likely contributed to the wait. Also, parking can be a challenge, as the lot fills up quickly.

Overall:
3 out of 5 stars.
Decent spot if you’re craving a good biscuit, but the fillings could use some work. I’d give it another try in hopes of more flavorful meat next time.

La Reynera is old! I think it has been here since November of 1978….and it is not going anywhere! There is always a jam for parking which is very limited. They have however secured some additional parking from the closed store across the street. You can expect to pay 1990 prices too! Very affordable compared to most restaurants today. Laredo’s finest elderly love this place and it is always packed for breakfast. I would come here more for the huevos rancheros than the pan. Not too much selection of baked goods. Looks like an old diner with cheap tables and chairs, but great food and coffee. Our food always comes out really quick and the service is always pleasant. I love the quaint historic feel of this place. Feels like a time warp to the 70’s!

They told me I Can’t put an order for buttercup, which make no sense to me. I went in person and was going to pay for the order it on a Tuesday and needed 6 buttercups for Saturday,

A woman on social media is scamming people claiming to work there and sharing photos of your staff. Just wanted to let you know. I’m almost positive she don’t work there. Just giving you a heads up I was gonna post the profile and conversation. Just don’t want something like this to hurt your business when you have nothing to do with person

First time going to this place. It was packed, as it is every morning, typical Mexican food, got it’s good, and they have fresh baked sweet bread also. Coconut is good. Would recommend.

I hadn’t been here in over 10 years. Its still one of the best breakfast places that I’ve been to. Same staff from yeaaaaRs ago. I guess the consistency of excellence is heavily rooted. Great food! Excellent service!

Been going to this place since i was 12, still has the best biscuits in town hands down. Real mom and pop place, the food and sweet bread is really good too. If you get a chance try the buttercup too.

Biscuit con frijoles y chirizo. If Seinfeld was filmed down south, this would be the spot. Some of the best biscuit combos ever.
