Nice atmosphere. The booth we were seated at was very tight. Martinis were ok, guacamole was good but the burrito didnt have enough meat in it (consisted of mostly rice) and lacked taste in general. Friendly service

Service good! Food NOT good. Very disappointed. The tortilla was just not good, dry and felt like store bought but not the good kind. The chicken tinga was not chicken tinga, sorry that is chicken with a little bit of salsa. Not coming back and would not recommend.

I’ve been hearing so much about this spot and finally got the chance to go on a taco Tuesday! I ordered a pitcher of the Bodegarita and guac as an app. Love places that offer big drinks for big parties and the guacamole was perfectly chunky and fresh. I ordered a handful of tacos and tried out some seasonal specials – an arepa and a torta (sandwich). They were both so good, I didn’t even get a photo first. Highly recommend going early if you’re there on a weekend or Tuesday because they are so popular but worth the wait!

Bill – 0/5!!! Look closely. What the heck is a Cocina Fee? Exactly, Cocina means kitchen in Spanish. Yes, when ordering dinner here, almost everyone orders in English, not Spanish. The owner instead of raising the salary of his kitchen staff decided to make it your responsibility. Then the owner added this little note on the bill deciding that yes…you are responsible for his/her staffs fair wage. On top of that, it is added without even letting you know until the end. Sneaky bad word, bad word. If I could curse on this, I would. The manager said he would remove it, but that is not the point. They didn’t let anyone know before the bill and just tried to sneak it through. This is such a despicable practice. I will never eat here again. Hey owner, I know you have undocumented staff and are saving money paying people off the books, why don’t you take that savings and pay them more. The gig is up. Slimy.
Food – 2/5, and I included photos. Look closely at the guacamole. It appears to be green but it looks like the cheap guacamole that you get at Shoprite in the container. They added some fresh ingredients like tomato and onion, but this is not a fresh avocado.
Look closely at the chicken. This is cheap low quality pre-grilled frozen chicken breast. This is not fresh chicken. I didn’t see a grill to even make grill marks when I walked by the kitchen, yet there were grill marks on the chicken. That along with texture helped me conclude this is basically a step up from fake chicken. If I’m wrong, please respond to the low quality of the chicken.

Wonderful and affordable bodega/restaurant. They have a wonderful menu of different types of tacos. I had the breakfast bowl that had Brussel sprouts, avocado, grilled veggies, farro, 2 sunny side up eggs and more! My wife had the Ya Mon taco salad! It was delicious and fresh! The atmosphere is warm and inviting!

Bodega Taco Bar is a small business with restaurants in Darien and Fairfield. The food is Mexican-inspired and reasonably priced. Currently, the Darien restaurant (not sure about the Fairfield one) offers outdoor seating that is both protected from rain and heated. Would eat here again.

Very friendly service. However… Fajitas didn’t have enough meat to make 3 tacos. Enchiladas were delicious, but not actual enchiladas, more like rice with sauce. My kids are picky so one got a rice and cheese burrito, $15. Also noticed the kitchen fee… interesting idea, but instead of a surprise fee, how about you just pay them better?
