New Ryan’s is open and busy.

You order drinks and food separately. The bartender takes your drink orders (and holds your card for a tab) while food is ordered on a tablet either at the far end of the bar or on a different tablet in the “dining” room where the booths and pool table are. A card is required to order on the tablet as well so either order food first or bring multiple cards. You could also pay in cash and order food directly from the cooks if you want.

Guinness is an American pint (16oz) and costs $8 all in. Fish and chips was very good and heavily battered. Some people don’t like that much batter but I like it as long as the fish inside is a good size and it was.

Overall, this is an easy walk from my house and I like Irish food and drinks so I will be back often. I’m excited to try their Irish coffee.

**Review for the recently re-opened Ryan’s**
Had high hopes when I walked in and a lot of the decor had been kept the same. But for $7 for a bottle of beer, $7 for a mediocre plate of fries, and having to navigate a bunch of kiosk ordering system nonsense, it’s just not worth the hassle.

Looks like the new owner’s goal was to hollow out Ryan’s and make it a safe space where hipsters can pretend they’re at a dive bar. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this is for you.

Totally awesome cheeseburger and fries, all made fresh on the spot! When you order a burger, the first thing they do is put fresh onion slices on the griddle. Then the meat goes on the char-grill. It comes off the grill with a bit of char and crispy edges- perfect. The fries are fresh cut, skin-on from a bin of whole potatoes, and could well be the best in Reno- at least the equal of great Basque-restaurant fries. Good Roma tomatoes on your burger- get it with everything.

Bartender/Chef was AMAZING! Inviting, poured out drinks whipped us up lunch, chatted with us while serving the regulars and it was the 4th of July… hot she was flying solo and pregnant. Great experience great food will definitely go back!

So bright I thought it was closing time. Then I learned it was so we could all see each other and the food. A blend of locals, local burners, burners who seem like bikers, and Irish pub. I fit right in. Not sure why the bar rail is held up by elephants!

Upset with the new digs. Been going to ryans for many years back when Mac was behind the bar and you took a good neighborhood bar and ruined it. The ryans cheese burger isnt the same for anyone wondering dont waste your time. The bartender wasnt very welcoming. I will post across the clamper pages as well and let them know we are no longer welcome. Sorry brothers another good one gone.

A low-key, old school, neighborhood bar with friendly service. This is your classic beer joint / hang-out spot.

Tucked in one corner behind the bar they have a grill and a fryer so consider the menu. Being a predictable simpleton, I had a standard burger/fries/Coke and it was jumbo-sized and quite good. There were several other items worth checking out so ask for a menu.

Of course, since this is Reno, my seat at the bar had a gaming machine so I played a few hands of Double Bonus Poker. Started with $20 and after a while cashed out at $22.00.

So I was a winner in more ways than one.

This is a friendly casual bar to duck into. You must order the sliders. The sliders are delicious!! Buns grilled perfectly. A tasty snack. 2 of us ordered 8 – they were that good. No fancy cocktails here, but they carry quality liquors and local bourbon. Eureka Gold or Small Batch With Bite paired with sliders for the win!

This is a dive bar done right. Great drinks and good food. The loaded fries were great and the corn dog was good too.
