We’re always on the lookout for a good oyster restaurant. Imagine our joy finding a GREAT one in Rocky Mount! Our host and server, Guy, took incredible care of us and we over ordered a bit. Our leftovers were simply delicious! Now we’ve run out and are planning the next visit.

My husband’s a traveling nurse.We’ve had food from all over and I feel their food is a five star. Our service was a little off, but they were just putting in a brand new cashier system.And so I think if we went on a different day, that would have been a five star too. We tried their fish tacos.They were excellent.We got there, crab legs, fantastic.And then we got some kind of platter that had like potatoes and sausage and shrimp.It was all very delicious, very reasonably prized.We ordered so much food and it was like a hundred dollars.Whereas we have been to the tasty crab.It was over two hundred dollars and the food was horrible.I highly recommend eating here

Lots of fried foods. So if you think you have healthy choices, think again. The food was descent, the prices a bit higher than I would have liked. There was one man who told us to grab our menus and find our own seats, he was also who served us. The food was served in a reasonable time and tasted fine. The server/hostess was kind.

Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar in Rocky Mount is a clean, welcoming spot with a nautical vibe and plenty of free parking in the center lot. You can usually seat yourself, and the staff greets you promptly. They offer a full bar, house-brewed tea, rotating desserts, lunch and dinner options, and TVs with closed captioning so you can catch a game or trivia.
Their seafood selection is excellent, with oysters and other items served fried, steamed, blackened, grilled, and more. They list the origin of their shrimp, clams, and oysters on the wall, and the chalkboard specials change depending on where the oysters were sourced that day.
The “Greggah” lobster roll was perfection—a generous portion of chilled lobster in their signature sauce on a top-cut, buttery soft bun. The slaw served with it was creamy, cold, fresh, slightly sweet, and had the right tang. The sausage and potatoes side was one of the best staples from this restaurant group.
A later snack of fried clam strips and fried oysters showed the same quality. Everything was freshly breaded, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and a house-made tartar sauce that was spot-on.
Another visit included a house salad with homemade ranch and the double-decker crab cake sandwich—two fresh, in-house-made crab cakes stacked together with coleslaw on the side. It was outstanding.
Consistently fresh seafood, friendly service, clean atmosphere, and reliable quality make this Shuckin’ Shack location a solid choice whether you’re in town briefly or a regular local.

We stopped in to try their oysters quick and the staff greeted us right away with smiles. As we sat up to the bar the bar staff greeted us and offered a menu. They were kind and took our drink order right away. They had a blackboard in the back listing where the oysters came from with prices and what their specials were. Our order was taken by that time the owner came over and greeted us. My husband and I defiantly recommend trying the oysters, very fresh and amazing flavor. We will definitely be back.

Came here today with my wife after a hair appointment. Was seated and waited on super fast. Our server was Charles, I think. Anyways, he kept out drinks full, and he was very attentive to our table. The food was good. We will return.

Passing through on our way home to Louisiana and found this restaurant. The grilled shrimp tacos and shrimp po-boy are top notch and loaded with shrimp! Our waiter Guy Davis was phenomenal! Right off the main highway! Definitely a 10!

Food is low quality and the restaurant smelled musky. Bartender was snotty and it seemed she was irritated by people coming in and sitting at the bar. The Shuckin Shack in Raleigh much better. This place is just gross.

First time here, and I had to share my thoughts of my experience.
I had noticed the restaurant for a few months and noticed that it was seafood and my girlfriend lives seafood so we had to give them a try.
On entering, you notice the daily specials listed, which is always helpful.
The associates were friendly, and since it was during lunch, we could have our choice of seating, though normally they have you waiting to be seated.
Our waitress was nice and offered nice options for appetizers to go with our meal.
The food came hot and, for the most part, good and flavorful. My discovery was that the hush puppies were with good flavor but were very dry. I thought I was eating a ball of cornmeal, which took away from the flavor. I have eaten them at several places, and they all have no flavor, but here is flavor but very dry. I also was not a fan of the coleslaw, but since I learned how to make it, I always have an issue with it.
You have options for lunch, and they are worth it if you have a little extra time, but in my opinion, leave the hush puppies.

Placed was packed when we got there. Ended up sitting at the bar for dinner. Service was great! Bartender was friendly, prompt, and thorough even though he was busy too! We ordered a shrimp po’ boy, 1/2 lb of peel & eat shrimp, a dozen raw oysters, and a dozen clams. Raws were delicious. Comes with a unique horseradish, spicy pepper mixture. Peel and eats were a bit overdone and not de-veined. Po-boy was Big but a bit bland on the sauce. Overall, a decent place to grab a meal in Rocky Mount. Not the best. Not the worst. Middling seafood place for the price. Service was excellent though!
