AMAZING!! plain and simple. I never knew food this amazing existed in Lava. I stopped at this hotel and this restaurant out of curiosity and right out of the gate I was greeted with some of the most amazing hospitality in friendliness for a long time. Derek, the food and beverage director ensured that my meal start to finish was perfect. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, the friendliness and service was absolutely the best I’ve had… And the food, the food is PERFECTION!! I had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, the filet mignon and lobster for dinner and the cheesecake for dessert. Talk about and experience that blew me away. If you want an amazing experience this is your place.

My husband and I are there for the first time this weekend when staying in the hotel. I have quite a lot of food restrictions/ allergies. The head chef ended up asking if we had any questions and helped make accommodations so I could eat, worry free. We tried the ice berg wedge, Caprese, filet mignon & Pier 39 Cioppino, and chocolate cake. All delicious. We would come back again if we were in the area. You definitely want to make a reservation. We were dressed up no one was turned away in jeans or leggings.

We enjoyed a birthday dinner. The service was great! My husband’s lamb chops were very good, coming from someone who doesn’t care much for lamb. However, the filet mignon, was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Very enjoyable and a night to remember.

This restaurant was an amazing find in the basement of a hotel built in 1914. I have to be embarrassingly honest, when I saw a door in the lobby of the hotel labeled executive chef, I laughed to myself that we are in Lava Hot Springs, why would there be an executive chef here.
If you’re cheap like me, you’ll look at the menu prices and wonder if we really are in Lava or San Fransico. The ambiance of the restaurant over looking the river was fun. But the surprise came when the food arrived. I got the seared tuna and my wife got the filet mignon. I was once lucky enough to be served seared tuna cooked by Wolfgang Puck that was amazing. So with a very critical bite, I tasted the tuna. It melted in my mouth. I should have taken longer to savor it, but I couldn’t help myself and I devoured it. Luckily my wife needed help with her filet, which was in the top 5 of steaks I’ve ever had. Remember, we are still eating in Lava, but I felt like I’d died and gone to food heaven. I even thought the vegetables were awesome.
When asked about dessert, we were full, but after how good the meal was, we had to say yes. I got the cheescake and my wife got the crème brûlée. Now we were really in food heaven. Instead of the classic crème brûlée mini cup, it was almost two inches deep of pure bliss. The only thing that could stop me from stealing all my wife’s dessert was how creamy the lemon curd cheesecake was in front of me.
This is a real review, I don’t comment much, usually only to complain. But it’s the next day after dinner and I’m already craving the food and planning our next trip to Lava. Nice job Derek.

They cook great steaks and make amazing cocktails. Caesar was our waiter, he was kind, patient and genuine. Pleasant to talk to! We met Derek on the way out, he was a part of their management team. We sat and talked with him for a while, great leadership and appreciative of their staff. Will definitely go back! Best food and buy FAR the best service at a restaurant in town.

Amazing meal! The seafood chowder was absolutely delicious! We had the rack of lamb and roast. So delicious! Glad we had live music and staff was entertaining. Definitely need reservations and don’t try to sit on the patio when the cotton trees are releasing fluff – it gets everywhere.

This was literally some of the best food I’ve ever had. The service was off the charts with Derek and Ceasar. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The cost was reasonable for both the food and service. Will be making the drive just to go eat here. Best Restaurant in Lava by far.

Food taste amazing!…. But for reasons unknown the kitchen was backed up, waited an hour and a half for just bread and butter. (Even with a reservation) The package we got came with a $40 dinner voucher, but if used, automatically ads 20% gratuity… And with how pricey food is (remember as I said before. It’s pretty amazing!) the voucher is realistically like 20% off coupon for the meal… But in the end our waiter (I believe his name is Will) was on point with us the entire night, and even gave us desert… You’re the man Will.

Holy Moly!!! Wow!! This dining experience was phenomenal magnificent dare I say glorious!! I can not even tell you how epically amazing my experience was!! Truly wonderful and just what I needed. Best mocktails I’ve ever had. Best food I can remember. Holy heck it was beyond good!! Beyond great. This is the place to take your lady fellas! I know it put me in the mood!! Perked me up like no other. I had thee best time!!!Food was so beautiful and delicious I ate it all before I realized I forgot to snap a pic! I got the braised rib special it was gorgeous and sooo good. I am thankful I found such a gem of a place.
