The interior was lovely. Very well put together. Staff were great; attentive, friendly, great with kids. The food was nicely presented. I gave the fish cakes a try and they were tasty but perhaps not my favorite version.
While I wish I could give this place a solid 5 stars, my issue is the washrooms were dirty. Winter is a tough time to keep things clean but this doesn’t account for the counter and sink area or the soap dispenser.
Hopefully this is a seasonal thing and is found in better condition on my next visit.

We tried the chili shrimp pizza, the mushroom + Annapolis cheese pizza, and the fish and chips. All were enjoyed. The batter on the fish (haddock) was light and crispy and it was cooked perfectly. The salt + vinegar “dust” on the fries was tasty and the fries themselves were really delicious. The Louisburg cocktail was awesome – loved the watermelon foam. We had excellent service and the atmosphere is perfect. Two of us had an upset stomach after eating here so that’s why the food gets 4 stars.

i like this place. the patio is right on the water in summer time and they offer blankets if it’s windy. the dessert was delicious, we split some meals and appetizers and they were all good.

Out of our entire east coast road trip, this is the place we will fondly reminisce about. Our best dining experience without a question. We were able to call ahead and book a reservation with a preference of a table on the patio. When we arrived, Sinclair, the hostess, gave us the option of choosing a patio table or one inside because it was quite breezy outside and a little cool. Sinclair said she could save a table for us inside and we could start outside and if we get too cold, she could move us inside. She also told us that they have blankets outside and heaters! So, we sat outside with the heaters on and blankets surrounding us and we were able to enjoy our entire dinner outside thanks to their accommodations! Sinclair was so helpful and we really appreciated her flexibility. Shawn was our waiter and he was able to give us great recommendations about the food and drink menu! We loved our food and we’re thankful for the recommendations he made and how attentive he was too! We so enjoyed our dinner at Salt & Ash with a lovely view of the Halifax Harbour right behind us. It was such a pleasant night and I wish we could have stayed longer and come back to this restaurant to experience their wonderful service and food again! 10/10 would recommend coming here if you’re in the area!

We had the best time at this restaurant! It was our second time because we’ve been craving it since the first time we went! The food is truly spectacular as are the drinks. Our server Dan (Daniel) was so friendly and made our experience great! You can tell he’s truly having a good time when working! He sold us on the cheesecake too. Will definitely be going again soon!

Went here because we heard so many good things, we came on an off day because their oven flooded. Our waiter walked by us multiple times and said she forgot about us. She said she can’t make what we originally ordered because they’re over flooded and if we wanted something they would discount it, we said that’s fine and ordered something new. After waiting 45 minutes our food came out and the fries were cold. The fish was the only hot thing. We told her we’ve been here since 6:30 and waiting til 8:00 for our food for it to come out cold and being told they forgot about us. They took the lobster roll off the bill and we only paid 50% for the fish and chips. The truffle bread was good tho. Will not be going back.

Service was fabulous, atmosphere was incredibly lovely. Heater didnt work on patio so we moved 3x. We had a service dog with us so we ate on patio. There were 3 of us. Wait was a little long for food and ppl who were seated after us got their food b4 we did. My eggs Benny was cold, not even warm. I asked that it be taken and warmed up. It was perfectly fine, not to waste it. They brought me a bowl of steaming hot tater tots and I waited as they remade my EB. My lunch guests were finished eating by the time I got mine. I was not hungry at this time, wait was too long and I ate some tater tots. I gave my friend half of my egg dish and found a hair in it. Was not asked if we’d like our coffees topped up or refilled. For such an upscale restaurant I was extremely disappointed. So unfortunate.

Had a great experience at Salt + Ash Beach House!
The space is super clean and modern, and the staff were all genuinely friendly and welcoming.
The fries and dipping sauce were a standout—crispy, tasty, and perfectly done.
A couple of small things:
– the burger was a little on the salty side for my taste
– the black coffee had quite a sour note.
But overall, a lovely spot with a great vibe.
Would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Food was delicious! We didn’t make a reservation so they found us a lovely spot at the bar.. watching the bartenders at work was worth it.. so good at their jobs, and from our vantage point we could see the chefs hard at work..& their hard work was worth the effort, I got the pizza my husband got the burger and the bread on both..so delicious.. we both enjoyed our meals

We found this place by chance talking to a local, originally looking for a lobster roll did not end up ordering it as it was $40, but the food Here was absolutely amazing, no disappointment at all. Everything was fresh. It was a great atmosphere even with my kids. We had the shrimp pizza and haddock tacos. My kid had the chicken and fries, which was real chicken not processed.
