The food was delicious. Service was efficient and professional. We would recommend the Ahi Tuna Tartare, Chicken Milanese, The Hemingway, and Warm Bread Pudding. The dessert was large enough to share. A pianist played during our visit. Cheers!

My party and I visited on New Year’s Day for my husband’s birthday. This location is downtown and although they have valet, there was no one at the booth when we arrived. We ended up parking in a garage. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted and sat (we had reservations). The ambiance was classy and beautiful with sleek decor, low lighting, and a neat dining room. We started with cocktails from their Christmas themed cocktail menu. Their drinks did not disappoint on the alcohol level. If you prefer your drinks heavier on the alcohol vs the flavor listed/sweet – these cocktails are for you. They were priced $17-$20. We had two sushi options: the Hollywood and the salmon on crispy rice. Both were amazing and cost about $20 each. We also had the cheese popover – they looked amazing but mine was cold in the center. We had two waiters taking care of us so our water stayed filled and there was minimal wait time between orders. I had the beef Wellington (about $58) while my daughter and husband had the ribeye (about $52 ea). The beef Wellington looked close to what I was expecting: a golden flaky crust and a medium rare steak inside. The taste was a bit of a let down. It was salty and my pastry was soggy at the bottom like maybe it didn’t have the proper resting time or there wasn’t enough moisture cooked out of the mushrooms. I’ve had a Wellington at Hell’s Kitchen and while I wasn’t expecting an identical experience, I was thrown off by what I got. The potatoes were good but not enough to overcome the disappointment from the Wellington. The ribeyes were amazing. Perfect sear, big flavor, and juicy. The onion ring felt out of place but man was it delicious. The twice baked potato has a baked potato texture with cheese melted on top. We ended the night with a cookie skillet with peppermint ice cream – chef’s kiss (sorry no picture). Our meal was a little over $300 for 3. It was good to cross it off the list but don’t see this one in my regular rotation but worth trying

For the atmosphere to be up scale they don’t push any type of dress code so you will pay high prices for food, but you may be sitting next to bubba and his baseball hat.
I ordered two cocktails and I can’t say either one were very good. We asked for an extra dirty martini, but instead of it being made correctly they just brought us a side of olive juice to make it ourselves.
I spent over $300 for the tables drinks, appetizers and my meal. For those prices, I should’ve been blown away, unfortunately I was not.

There presentations were great. The parmesan halibut with sauce was delicious! The spinach lacked a little flavor. The service was wonderful. It wasn’t too busy so we got a seat pretty easy.

The food itself was very good, but the service was extremely disappointing. My party and I went to dinner while visiting Broadway. We came dressed casually in jeans and t-shirts, and immediately felt judged by the staff. A server made comments about our attire, asking if we had just gotten off work and why we were dressed like that.
From there, the service only got worse. Our server barely came to our table, and we had to ask just to see the alcohol menu. When we did order a starter, the server seemed surprised that we did. To make matters worse, a couple who walked in after us without a reservation was seated before us likely because they were dressed more formally.
This was my first experience at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it left me feeling unwelcome and looked down upon, as though we didn’t belong or wouldn’t pay our bill. It was a very rude and uncomfortable experience that overshadowed what could have been a great meal. Because of this, I don’t see myself returning to this location or visiting any of the company’s other restaurants.

Food was great service was less than stellar. Our server I think was having a rough day. Started with a firecracker roll which had some odd flavors. Would not order again. The Hemingway filet was cooked perfectly and was super tender. The server spilled most of the first order of fries on the floor (thankfully) because they were cold and overcooked. The second side of fries were hot and cooked at the proper crispiness. Crispy Brussels sprouts were crispy but lacking some seasoning or sauce.

Both the atmosphere and food here is excellent! A group of us sat at the bar – service was friendly and attentive. Everything came out quickly and well prepared. Appetizers, salads, steaks, and burgers were some of the best we all have had. And the live pianist was a perfect ambiance addition – not too loud either.
Definitely a spot to visit again next time in Nashville!

From the moment we walked in truly felt treated like family. A rare combination of excellent service exceptional drinks and culinary execution in the downtown Broadway area. A lot of places try to have a scratch elevated kitchen and few can truly pull it off River house absolutely exceeded my sky high expectations. This isn’t by anymeans a cheep dining experience but you get what you pay for and the experience was well worth the price. I recomend coming with a medium to large sized group and ordering a bit of everything from the menu and sharing it all. The seafood was especially exceptional the produce was exceedingly fresh. A great spot for locals wandering around Broadway in-between shows or bars and an even better stop for tourists especially large Bachelorette groups looking for an elevated dining experience.

This restaurant is top tier for ambience, service, and FOOD! My husband and I visited right before Christmas for a date night and this was the nicest experience we have ever had at a restaurant! The dining ambience was complete with candlelight and a live pianist (who was very talented and had an excellent repertoire). Our server was so friendly and attentive the entire night. I ordered chicken Milanese and my husband ordered the Hemingway steak. Both were prepared to perfection! We also got the Caesar salad which was prepared tableside. The man serving us was very friendly and personable, and he allowed us to customize our salad to our own personal taste. For dessert, we had bread pudding. It was warm and delicious. It had the perfect blend of warm spices. This was a fantastic meal, overall. Though expensive, we felt it was worth every penny.
