The location is super convenient with easy parking since it’s in the main shopping center. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very welcoming. If you go, you must try the Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich—it’s massive and packed with flavor. Great beer list and appetizers, too. We’ll definitely be back!

I was a bit skeptical when my brothers asked me to come here for lunch before we go shopping, and I am glad I agreed to eat at Hopmonk Tavern.
The food is a typical bar and pub like food, but the dishes we ordered were all delicious. Matthieu B, our server was attentive, friendly, efficient and good at recommending the right beer to go with our food.
It will be my go to place whenever I go do my shopping there.

Great food, and offers a solid choice of local beers, as well as a full bar. The outdoor seating is fantastic, its very large, and quite serene. You would have no idea you’re in the middle of a town. Great rotation of live music through the week as well. Service is adequate. Highly recommend the Calamari.

My wife and I have been going to the Novato Hopmonk for years now, usually when we make our monthly trip from Greenbrae to Costco. We’re always ready for some food and a cold one.
Last night we had to turn around and walk out. The place was dead, with maybe a dozen people seated. We usually grab a booth by the bar if available.
Last night (Sunday the 16th, around 7:30 PM), a young man whose name I didn’t get (with dark hair) was the host, and we asked for a bar booth — he said no problem, help yourself. PROBLEM!
It turned out one table was occupied, and the other hadn’t been bused yet, so was still full of trash, leftovers, etc. We took it upon ourselves to sit a few feet away at a booth by the host stand. He came over and went absolutely went off on us that “this was NOT the bar area!” We showed him how there was no more booth seating at the bar. He went off even more how he was (his words) “too busy” to clean up the one booth, and demanded to know why we went over to another unoccupied booth with out checking with him . He complained about how busy HE was. The place, again, was absolutely empty/dead — we could have sat anywhere no problem.
I held my tongue and just walked out. My wife said she tried to reason with him, but he would have none of it. She joined me and we went elsewhere to eat. It really put a damper on the evening. Nobody with that attitude should be doing a host job.
Some weeks earlier we went there, and there was an unannounced party there. No ticket, no admittance. We were not too happy, but the doorperson/bouncer at the door apologized, and gave us a $10 gift card which brought us back a couple weeks later and had a nice experience.
This “Host” needs a serious amount of retraining with a side of anger management. Or better yet, a different job.
You NEVER tell a patron you are “TOO BUSY” to assist you!

Cool big place to get some brews, get a bite and listen to some music on the patio (on select days) very cool decor, seems like they have a alot of music events. Had a chicken sandwich, very juicy but not the best. More like a taphouse kinda vibe. Fun fact they have a photo booth if you like those maybe after a few drinks . Try only if you’re around and its lunch time or there is a good event going on

Nice space, decent beer prices. D&T was a little sour and the burger was bland and overcooked. Ordered it medium rare, got it the consistency of shoe leather. Wasn’t even offered to knock half off the bill for something that was barely edible. Took a few bites because I was starving, but opted to just popped over to in n out immediately after for something decent to eat. For a $22 burger, salt, pepper, and properly temped is the bare minimum.

Joined a group outside in beer garden for paint night. We had such a great time. It’s decorated for the holidays which I loved. The food, atmosphere were great and getting to paint, make new friends was the best!
