I recently visited Kuyashii Ramen, and I have to say, their new location is a huge upgrade from their previous spot. The space has a beautiful rustic aesthetic with exposed brick, warm lighting, and wood finishes that create a really inviting atmosphere. It feels much wider and more open, with plenty of seating whether you’re dining solo, on a date, or with a group.
They’ve also added a full bar, which was a great touch. I asked the bartender to surprise me with her best recommendation, and she crafted an excellent Old-Fashioned using Japanese whiskey — smooth, balanced, and definitely worth trying if you’re into whiskey cocktails.
For food, I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen (listed online as Black Garlic Tonkotsu), and it was outstanding — rich broth, deep flavor, and perfectly cooked toppings. You can tell a lot of care goes into their dishes.
Service was friendly and attentive, pricing was reasonable, and the overall experience felt relaxed yet upscale. They also offer Japanese beers and a variety of Japanese liquors, which adds to the authenticity.
I would absolutely recommend this spot to locals and anyone visiting from out of town. Great food, great drinks, and a beautiful new space. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Food was delicious, new place is ok, I think the last location seemed better. Our bartender/waitress was really sweet, I don’t remember her name but she was platinum blonde.
The only thing that was negative out of the experience was that the bartender was wearing a glove, she kept getting dirty dishes, washing them, and making drinks with that same glove and touching the ice with it along with her bare hand. It’s kinda gross… there’s cross contamination by doing that. It be best to take the glove off, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer and put a new one on. You have your servers doing the same, grabbing dirty dishes then getting the glass bottles to put faucet water in them and touching straws with their bare hands. Cleanliness should be priority. Maybe don’t sit guests by the bar where they can see what’s going on…

This place has an amazing vibe. The building had a rustic vibe with exotic house plants scattered throughout the place. I had the dumbling for an appetizer followed by the Chile De Arbol Tonkotsu for the entrée. If you like spicy this will do it for you and im not talking American spicy. For dessert, I had the Japanese Cheese cake, drizzled with tres leches and served with a scoop of ice cream. Delicious!! If you are ever in Brownsville, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Great food and attentive staff. They were very accommodating for a party of 11. The cocktails were creative and tasty. Most dishes have a small kick to them, so be mindful on what you pick if you don’t like spicy. Do yourself a favor a pick one appetizer for the table, they were all great. Ramen is solid!

Ngl.. I was expecting the whole anime vibe. Kinda sucked seeing that things changed. Never got to visit the old spot unfortunately. I wore a toji shirt just to find out that it’s this whole fancy place now w no anime vibe & it gives “let’s be aesthetically pleasing” which sucks because everything now a days is turning that way, can’t even keep the culture of things i literally cried LOL but anywho .. food was horrible it looks delicious but the ramen itself has ZERO FLAVOR… waste of money and time, my 11 year old cousin can do better ramen , the meat was probably the only good thing to me. I ate about 5 spoon fulls of meat and left everything else felt kinda bad the girl asked if I wanted to take it to go I said no lmao. The bowl was full hopefully they’ll understand why & get the message …Service is great food not so great vibe … ehh if you want the aesthetic of it then you’ll like it, but for me this whole experience was horrible

This place is all the way to downtown. There’s not many ramen places in the valley, but this restaurant is a good one to go to. The service is good. The waiter always made sure everything was good and made us feel welcomed. The food is good. The only thing is the fountain drinks taste watered down. The dessert (Japanese cake) wasn’t a whole lot but it tastes really good. It’s the only dessert on the menu. I think it would be good to add more desserts. The place is aesthetically pleasing especially the paintings on the wall. It’s a long restaurant & it’s big enough.

This place has gone so far downhill it is sad to see. This used to be a place that was consistently good and it was evident that care was put into the food they made. That is no longer the case. They never introduce new menu items, which is something I always looked forward to. Now it’s just the same old boring menu. The food is nearly inedible due to the lack of flavor. How is something so red and spicy but has no flavor?!? A little salt on the meat surely wouldnt hurt. Also all personality of the restaurant was gone once they changed locations. Don’t come here unless you want to be severely disappointed . You’re better off getting a maruchan from Walmart.

It had been a while since we visited. Last time the food was bland and the service was a complete letdown.. But we were in the area and figured, why not? Glad we gave it another chance. Everything we ordered was full of flavor, and the service was way better than we remembered. Pleasantly surprised all around.

The most disappointing meal Ive ever had, ordered tonkatsu after over 40 min. Broth was subpar at best, and I could swear the noodles were Maruchan instant noodles. And not what I would expect for a small $15 bowl. The pork was well cooked and the only thing done well. Was really hoping for a Ramen place closer than McAllen. Eat at your own risk.
