After experiencing myself, I would give this place a solid 4.5. Since Google only allows round numbers, I decided to round my score up.
The food is an interesting fusion – Mexican seafood. Looking at their menu, I initially thought the prices were slightly expensive. But after getting my food, I completely changed my mind. You get great value here! The restaurant is very generous on their portion size and they are not shy about the amount of seafood they give you.
The food was good. I had the paella and my girlfriend had the shrimp tacos. We shared the guacamole. The guacamole was serviceable. I like that it was chunky and you could tell it was made fresh, but for me it was a little too salty and had a lot of raw onion. But the paella was outstanding! Lots of seafood in every bite – crab legs, muscles, shrimp, and octopus. This dish was big enough to share. The only negative was again the raw onions. This restaurant seems to love their raw onions and puts it in everything.
My girlfriend and I went on a Friday evening for dinner and I was surprised that we were the only customers there (around 6pm). Especially since they are open until 2am on Fridays. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. She said that the restaurant usually was much busier and that they had a live band play there every week (either Friday or Sunday). With nobody there, the restaurant was giving a relaxed and chill vibe. However, I could imagine how lively the place could get when hopping with a live band.
I really love the Mexican seafood idea. I will definitely be back again to try one of their fish plates and one of their margaritas.
& Stone Park) – after chatting with our server we found out that the Stone Park location closed & they moved that staff to this new Bartlett location.
FOOD is DELICIOUS with a few unique items I’ve not seen anywhere else (specifically the pot of delicious Molcajete de Carnes and the Chalares)
I didn’t get photos of everything cuz we jumped right into eating – but we did additionally order guacamole – shrimp ceviche – fish tacos (comes with French fries) – most entrees are served with rice & French fries. We were somewhat turned off by the thought of French fries but we found ourselves dunking them into the fabulous sauce in the Molcajete de Carnes pot & then couldn’t stop eating them.
Here’s where I’m going to lean towards negative. Not a lot of tables. There’s about 4 or 5 high tops seating for 6 which run the length of the bar. There’s maybe 6 regular height tables for 4.
There’s a ton more square footage in the restaurant that could easily hold at least 4 or more additional 4 tops.
Our party of 4 arrived at 6pm on a Sunday & waited about 30 minutes to be seated.
About 7pm – 3 very serious looking “security” emblemmed men wearing flak jacket/vests walked in the restaurant & originally seemed like they were looking for someone. After a few minutes they each took a strategic location standing around the restaurant against walls.
Next up – enter the first band and we completely lost our ability to talk – best we could do is scream at one another over the BLASTING MUSIC.
On Fridays & Sundays they bring in a rotation of 3 bands.
GREAT MUSIC but no ability to talk during dining. While the 1st band was playing the next band arrived outside and they had more musicians and bigger horns and more drums.
We decided to close out our check and vamanos – it was either that – or it was time to order the 8 mango shots drink menu item.
Morale of the story – if you want to dine and talk to one another – do not go on Fridays & Sundays after 6.
To make things worse, the employee repeatedly asked me if I wanted to wait for the second order. As drivers, we cannot just cancel or “come back later” for an order. These orders are assigned to us, and canceling affects our ratings and income. I explained that I couldn’t just leave, yet the employee kept implying I had a choice.
At no point was I rude. I was patient and simply doing my job. Instead of acknowledging that drivers are trying to do their work just like everyone else, I was treated like a problem for sitting there waiting.
There needs to be better communication and understanding of how delivery platforms work at THIS RESTAURANT. Drivers deserve basic respect too. Very disappointing experience. I live in Bartlett, I will NEVER EAT HERE. Neither ANY OF MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY
After placing our order one of our plates was missing and Silvia had to go to the kitchen to check. Unfortunately the customer service throughout our visit was disappointing she spent a lot of time texting around the corner and rarely checked on our table.
When the bill arrived I noticed an automatic 20% gratuity had been added to the total, regardless of the quality of service. This was surprising especially given the overall poor experience.
