Green Guardin is a hidden gem of an Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of San Romone Costa Rica. The head chef who happens to be the owner is amazing, with his life experience spanning the globe and a long and learned time in Italy, his food is amazing. We were there on a Friday and had no problem getting seated, but with the quality of the food itself would think it would be a bit tough finding a seat at dinner time. If your looking to surprise your hunny with a date to a great resturant this is your place.

The staff are absolutely amazing, and the owner is on another level. He came out to talk and joke with us, and by the end of the night it genuinely felt like we were all one big family.
The vodka pasta was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Every time a new dish came out, I swear I shed a few tears of happiness. You can feel how much Green Garden truly cares about every single person who walks through their doors, it’s on a whole different level.
I’m not a San Ramon local, but every time I visit, I will always make it a point to come back here. Honestly, this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in my entire life.

Green Garden was absolutely amazing, and Chef Chris is truly phenomenal. He personally stopped by our table to check on us and shared his culinary journey, inspiration for returning to Costa Rica, and the essence of living Pura Vida.
The smoothies and salad were incredibly fresh, and the pastas were out of this world. We ended our meal with a decadent Nee York style cheesecake topped with red fruit compote and were pleasantly surprised with complimentary limoncello.
The service was outstanding, and we felt genuinely welcomed—especially meaningful to us as two Black women visiting from the United States. Please consider supporting this wonderful restaurant!

Green Garden is a gem! The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful—everything from the grilled panini to the crisp salad with its amazing house-made dressing was spot on. The kids’ meals were tasty and arrived quickly, which we really appreciated. The smoothies were a perfect, refreshing treat. What made the experience even better was the chef coming out personally to check on our table. He was so friendly and genuinely wanted to make sure we were happy. That personal touch really stood out. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service here. We’ll definitely be back the next time we are in Costa Rica!

The Green Garden was a magical culinary experience in San Ramon that brought the taste of Italy to the Central Valley of Costa Rica with the hospitality we know and love in this country. Chef Chris welcomed us and bent over backward to ensure our experience was top notch. Fresh, organic ingredients, imported Italian cheeses and delectable wine and cocktails tantalized our tastebuds, and the pasta—holy wow, the pasta was exceptional. We have been to this restaurant a couple times since purchasing our home in Cambronero, and have always had a wonderful experience. We brought our guests this time, and everyone was dazzled by the hospitality, tastes, smells and atmosphere. If you are in the Central Valley of Costa Rica, Green Garden is a MUST VISIT spot. You will not be disappointed, and may just have the best meal of your life.

This is hands down the best Italian styled food I’ve had in the entirety of Costa Rica. The service was phenomenal, and the presentation was top-notch. The owner/head chef was on-site and was nice enough to stop by our table to converse for a short minute.
I have not had a better plate of pasta in quite a while. Even the stuff I cook at home can not compete with the deliciousness I was served.
There are two separate enterences as after their initial opening, they took over the space next door. Due to that, they have a really good open kitchen smack dab in the middle of the place.
I was most impressed watching the cooks assembling our meals. They decorated the plate marvelously, and the mouth-watering scent of garlic was wafting through the air.
I am definitely going to go back so I can sample more delicacies from their menu. All in all, I was very happy with my experience.

This is honestly the best restaurant I have ever been to. The owner Christian is one of the most genuine amazing people to grace this earth. My friends and I had dinner there and stayed for around 4 hours. Every staff member was amazing and attentive. We were all a family by the end of the night. THE FOOD 10/10. If you are ever in San Ramon you HAVE to go to this restaurant. AMAZING! Love! Love!

Our group accidentally ended up at Green Garden as we were driving to La Fortuna. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I realized this is not your average Italian restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the staff that spoke excellent English. Chef Chris was very friendly and was very accommodating with our varied group needs (vegetarian, kids, lactose intolerance). The food was mind blowing. Pizza was out of the world, pasta was the best ever. The flavour and taste was something I had never experienced. We loved the food so much that we got a pasta for a takeaway. Highly recommend this place!!

We had a great lunch here, on our way up to La Fortuna. Kids split a pizza and the adults all had paninis with salad. Food was great, service was attentive. We met the owner Chris, who was very friendly and even gave us another bottle of wine on the house! We will go back if we find ourselves in San Ramon again!
