Cute little hidden local gem that continues to offer fresh, local seafood. Made with love our rolls were delicious as always. Service was great, food did not disappoint, and glad this classic sushi offering still stands. Thank you.
We ordered five rolls, and two of them were absolutely disgusting. Warm, mushy, and honestly inedible. I couldn’t even swallow a piece without feeling sick (and I actually did get sick later that night). When we politely asked to send the bad rolls back and get something else, the server said he wasn’t sure but would ask. The manager then came out and started yelling at us, asking if we wanted our “trash back” because “everyone else liked it.”
We were nothing but polite, just trying to explain that the food was bad and we didn’t want to pay for something we couldn’t eat. Instead of handling it professionally, she belittled us in front of the entire restaurant. In the end, they only took one roll off the bill because the server “didn’t know” they don’t remove food from checks there.
I’ve worked in customer service and been to countless restaurants, and I have never been treated with such disrespect. Between the awful service, disgusting food, and the manager’s shocking attitude, I will never go back and strongly suggest you don’t either.
The salmon was really good quality/flavor. Very fresh.
The service was slow, and the place was un kept.
Would I go here again? Probably not unless I lived on the street and it was super convenient or something like that.
Their steamed buns were good. They come taco style with ginger, veggies, and either salmon for $9.95 or pork belly for $8.95. Expect to pay $10-$15 a roll. They have good specials, and make sure to take a picture of the special board when you walk in. The waitress was a little hard to understand, and I am usually really good with accents.
Mochi is $6 and comes with two pieces cut in half with whipped cream on top.
I wouldn’t order it again.
Edemame is $6. The menu pictures they have online are outdated, and prices have more than doubled.
The bathroom was really bad.
Kid friendly: 1/5 only getting one star because they have booths, besides that, they have no changing table, no children’s menu, no appropriate boosters. Not kid friendly.
Accessibility ♿️: 1/5 not good wheelchair appropriate entrance or bathrooms. However, the booths and tables are a good height. The walkways are not large enough. The take-out area is in the back, and the counter is standing height.
The Good:
Average sushi taste, decent variety and nice to see some non sushi options as well (our gyoza was good). Nothing special, but good.
The Meh:
Facility is kind of worn down. Questionable cleanliness, although our table was clean and no complaints about service. It’s Portland, so as expected prices are a bit much.
The Bad:
Hope you don’t have broad shoulders for the men’s restroom or it will be a tight squeeze.
