My wife and I dined in at Basil on February 14, 2026. The hostess handled a very busy check in with a simple and grace. We were quickly seated and our server immediately appeared. He was attentive and professional during our entire dinner. The food was excellent from the escargot and garlic artichoke hearts through the antipasto, soup and spaghetti and angle hair pasta. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting. We felt the price was very reasonable. We will return. Our thanks to the owner, chefs and wait staff for a truly enjoyable evening

Absolutely never coming back again- a huge letdown. I live 5 minutes away and finally decided to try eating here today and I really regret it. First of all, the service is horrendous with the girl answering the phone for to go orders mumbling like a little teenager that never learned a thing about customer service and doesn’t even mention that THEY DON’T TAKE CARD PAYMENT. So I drive back home, get cash, and go back only for the food to be hugely disappointing. The calzone was a disgrace, just a huge dry crust filled with some bland cheese and skimpy pepperonis. They don’t even add ricotta either or season the crust at all. It was like eating a baked lunchable. I usually go to Jimmy’s even though it’s further, and I should’ve went there today. I’ll never betray Jimmy’s again because they actually know how to make calzones and don’t have dinosaur practices of only taking cash. I should’ve not even came back but at least I paid 34 dollars to know that this place is trash. The pizza was okay but nothing special. I had to throw the calzone away where it belongs in the garbage.

Bazil’s has been a Tucson staple for as long as I’ve been alive! Such a gem. The owner is a stand up person. Always great food with a loving and welcoming Italian spirit. Bazil’s to go often has our order ready sooner than expected. We try something new every time and it never misses. Also love the dine in ambiance. Traditional, yet easy going and accommodating. Their red sauce reminds me of my very own Italian grandma’s sauce. At least once a month we get the meatballs and marinara sauce, yumm! Definitely a family favorite. You won’t find a better Tucson favorite that is reliable. Must go!

I love this place, great atmosphere, if you sit in a booth, you can even brighten or dim the light over your table. The service is always top notch and the pasta is amazing, the antipasto salad is so good with their house made dressing and the Chicago tavern style pizza that is only served in the bar area is one of the best in the Southwest.

This is a long review but stick around… You’ll thank me later. There’s a saying that goes something like: “That place really isn’t good so what you’re paying for is the experience” and I have to say that if ever there were a place that matches this description, it’s Bazil’s. I can’t remember the last time I was so genuinely disappointed by a simple Italian meal. Perhaps you think I’m being harsh, but is it really being harsh if I want an Italian restaurant to serve a decent plate of spaghetti and meatballs… Or anything, for that matter? After you place your order, your meal arrives as separate courses: Bread, salad, soup, and then entree, with each being just as lackluster as the last. The salad was compromised of wilted iceberg lettuce, stringy red onion, poorly sliced deli meat and cheese, and doused with a knockoff Olive Garden vinaigrette. Shortly after, the cup of soup arrived, which was thin and under seasoned. Now, for the spaghetti. This lukewarm plate of pasta placed in front of me was nicely presented but was covered in what I can only assume was last week’s sauce. This red tomato concoction had a slightly charred aftertaste and was adorning meatballs which were most definitely pulled out of the back of some freezer in the kitchen and then slapped into a piping hot pan in an attempt to revive them. Believe it or not, I seriously wanted to enjoy my experience here. The building and interior decor are beautiful, the ambiance is warm and quiet, and the service is great. Our lovely server, Sarah also did everything in her power to try and make things right but I’m not sure how she would’ve been capable of doing an entire menu overhaul in just one night. Save your money and go to Olive Garden… At least there, everyone is family.

Everyone was welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in. When we had finished our meal, Bazil himself came out and thanked us for coming in. That was really nice! The wait staff was excellent! They worked as a team and made us feel like we were the most important people there.

Went there for a nice meal with my brother sil and nieces and nephews. It was a weeknight and there was 1 other table of diners in the restaurant. We were told that we’d have to eat in the bar because of the kids. My brother was a fine dining chef in Phx and his kids know how to behave in a restaurant!! They didn’t care. So rather than sit in the bar. We left. Soooo rude!!! Went to Giovanni’s and had a wonderful meal!! With no complaints about the kids

This was one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been too. The Veal Marsala and Rolled Eggplant were the best I’ve ever had. The Alfredo was pretty plain, no garlic or parmesan flavor. The garlic bread and marinara was amazing. If you get the tiramisu ask for no chocolate drizzle.

Bazil’s is one of our Tucson favorites! The bar is cozy and fun and it’s the only place in the restaurant you can order their incredible pizza. Their pizzas are among the best in town and the martinis, they are not only the best but also the biggest! Always a great night at Bazil’s!
