I’m writing as someone who has been a loyal customer of Nagoya for nearly seven years. My family and I come almost weekly because, frankly, the food has always stood out from other hibachi restaurants. The rice is moist, the sauces are thick (not watery), and the quality has consistently been better than competitors.
That’s why tonight’s experience was so disappointing.
My son and I ordered exactly what we always order: he gets a side of noodles or white rice, and I get the hibachi steak dinner. We have done this countless times without issue. This evening, however, we were told it was mandatory that we order two full meals or we would not be served.
Since no one was going to eat an extra meal, we had no choice but to leave.
After seven years of regular business, being turned away over this “new policy” felt dismissive and unnecessary. Unfortunately, it was enough to end our loyalty. I will not be patronizing this restaurant again.
While I’m being honest, I also want to mention an ongoing issue: the hostess is rarely at or even near the hostess stand. Customers are consistently left waiting, and more than once I’ve had to call the restaurant from inside the building just to get someone to come seat us. That shouldn’t be normal.
And finally, the bathrooms. They are consistently dirty. Sticky floors and visible mess in and around the toilets is not something customers should be encountering, especially at a restaurant they otherwise enjoy.
I’m disappointed to be writing this, because Nagoya has been one of our favorite spots for years. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

I have never been to a Sushi Bar, But this past Saturday (Nov. 1st), My Wife & I along w/ other Family members went to the “NAGOYA STEAKHOUSE & SUSHI BAR” at the Donaldson Crossroads Shopping Center on Route 19. The Food was delicious, The Service was 1st rate & The Atmosphere was nice. The Cook & Waitstaff at Our table kept Us entertained & They worked hard at every step. I had the Hibachi Chicken (Which was cooked perfectly) & the added noodles, rice, shrimp & the tasty condiments Complimented the entire dinner. My Family raved about NAGOYA before We arrived & it lived up to Their hype. I strongly recommend the “NAGOYA STEAKHOUSE & SUSHI BAR”. It’s a “DELICIOUS DESTINATION”.

Food was good and very tasty. I had the steak and lobster and it was cooked to medium well just like I wanted. The lobster was cooked enough where it was tender and not over cooked. Also had chicken shrimp and scallops and everything was cooked good. Came with noodles, rice and vegetables. No complaints. Would recommend

Phenomenal food and employees
My grandma and I decided to order food to go while in the car at Giant Eagle and then when I saw how big the restaurant is inside, we decided to eat inside (my first experience eating in a restaurant in 2 years!).
The employees were patient and understanding and wonderful.
The food is the best I’ve ever had, hands down!
My grandma even decided the sushi looked good enough to try for the first time and enjoyed it!
Thankful to the phenomenal employees who made this a wonderful experience for us both in the midst of crazy times. I appreciate you all and I hope you stay safe and healthy. Thank you for all you do! You are saving lives (today you saved us from our shopping hunger/hanger!)

We got there a little after 6, and were promptly seated. It took about 5 minutes before the waiter came and asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for a water, my husband asked for a drink menu. A few minutes later, he brought is water and a drink menu. Few minutes go by he asked what we wanted to drink. My husband tried to order a Tokyo Mojito, and was promptly informed that they did not have it, so he ordered a beer. The waiter took the drink menu, as well as the dinner menus, but did not take our dinner order. I was getting frustrated, but thought the guy would be back in a few minutes with the beer and we can inform him of our meal selections. We knew it was probably going to be a lost cause when another guy at our table went to the bar to fetch the beer he had ordered sometime before we got there. We had probably been sitting for 15 minutes or so. Enough time for our waiter to have brought salads and soups to another table, and at least two other dinners to be cooked.
About 30 minutes into having been there, and no beer or waiter, our chef comes out to cook our table’s food (another family was seated with us at the hibachi). We had not yet ordered. The chef did not seem to have known this. At which point we informed him not to worry about us, and that we were leaving.
We ended up across the the way and had a wonderful experience at MadMex, wonderful food, prompt and courteous service.
We are not difficult-to-please types, I think you can tell in reviews when people are just being picky or overly critical; that’s not us. But, this experience was truly miserable.

Great experience! A better deal than from Fusion – everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous! Kid friendly. No complaints! It was worth the drive

Had my son’s birthday here. Food was great however server didn’t come back often for refills. We reserved the back room and they needed to “get it set up” for 30 minutes we waited to decorate for his party. Cooks were great tho!

1st time I ever got up and left from a restaurant. Service was terrible. No hostess taking names. When we finally got seated, we waited at the hibachi table for a server and no one ever came. 17 mins passed and not a soul acknowledged us or brought water. They had staff everywhere so it was seemingly just incompetence. After waiting with no service, we said screw it, got up and went to Benichopsticks

Six of us having filet mignon so it was an expensive night. Food was not what you would think. Shrimp was tough and not very lean filets. Chef never came back to check on us for refills or to ask how everything is. Only saw him to deliver check. Of course. Won’t be back way too expensive.

Joined friend for dinner and had a wonderful meal – even enjoyed leftovers the next day! I had the hibachi tuna meal, but most had the shrimp! Thanks for feeding and entertaining us.
